This hostel is on the smaller side of other hostiles, I have ever visited; however, the staff are extremely helpful and responsive with any questions, comments, or concerns. The shared areas, bathrooms, and rooms were super clean which is probably the most important thing I take into consideration when staying at hostels. My only complaint was that our single room...

Hi to all of the staff. I just wanted to thank you. This was our second time staying at the hostel & we truly enjoyed our stay. We love coming to Maui and where you are located is ideal for us. We are able to walk to many great eating places, take walks around the area or just relax on...

As a solo female traveler in my late 20s, I was apprehensive to stay in a hostel. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with The Northshore. It was clean, friendly, and I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Relaxed atmosphere that caters to a more mature traveler, unlike the Banana around the corner. Bonus: Free coffee and DIY pancakes are available in...

Dear Amity, thanks for your visit and kind words. We are working on some improvements which will add another bathroom for our guests, but things move slowly here in Maui. We look forward to welcoming you again to the Northshore Hostel Maui! Aloha

As we near the end of 6 months on the road, staying in numerous hostels in Australia and New Zealand we feel we have some good benchmarks on good, bad and indifferent hostels, and can objectively compare our first USA hostel stay with those benchmarks. It, The Northshore Hostel, doesn't stack up well against those benchmarks. However we see from...

This hotel is easy to find and a quick ride from the airport. I arrived late (flight was late) so I missed the last shuttle. It was easy to call a taxi (or get in an uber had one been available) and it was a $17 ride. So that free airport shuttle will save you a lot of money if...

Our two young adult children were travelling with us and had limited budgets so we chose a family room in this hostel for the price. US$120 a night for the 4 of us. A real bargain for Maui. The room was tight. There was a double(not a queen as described) a single and a fold down murphy bed. Luckily there...

Very quiet hostel, after 10 PM you won't hear any noise inside. Hostel is offering all necessary facilities from refrigerator in the kitchen to desktop computer with the attached printer. You can even make a calls inside Hawaii for free :) That was cool :) We had parked our car just outside the hotel in a big parking area and...

Friendly staff, clean place in a beautiful area, close from nice small shops and cafes. It's also a good place to meet people and share good traveling tips about the island! The hostel is easy to find from the airport road.

My friends and I stayed at the Northshore Hostel for a week visiting from Toronto. This is a more quiet hostel and the staff were very polite in letting us know when it's quiet hours. Excellent service staff, flexible and friendly. Overall the hostel was clean with lots of amenities (as long as your expectations aren't unreasonable) and it felt...

We had a wonderful experience at this hostel. Nice, clean rooms and bathrooms. The free parking across the street was awesome. And well located near many shops, cafes, etc. We arrived late and keys were waiting for us as promised, easy as pie! We moved rooms as we had an extra person on the 2nd night and they allowed us...
