I'm ambivalent about this property. The grounds and the pool are beautiful. The bungalow itself was fine. But it was hot when we were there and I sweated it out the first night. Also the breakfast is a joke. Muffins and yogurt from Target. It would take so little effort to make home made muffins or banana bread each morning...

Our family of four stayed in Sue's Cottage for our first two nights in Maui. The location is ideal if you want to spend more time at Haleakala, getting to Hana, and Upcountry. It's 20 minutes from the airport , 15 minutes to Paia, and takes a little over an hour to get to the top of Haleakala summit from...

We booked our 3 night stay here back in March. We liaised with the owner and specifically chose a named cottage which had a full bath, full kitchen and outdoor veranda. When we arrived at 2200 after our flight from the UK , there was a notice on the window of the office for two arrivals that night. They had...

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are constantly striving to improve our guests experience. I am sorry that you felt it had a 1950s feel, however as we are a historical property we are hoping to retain the traditional Hawaiian plantation house experience. We apologize for not notifying you prior to your arrival regarding your room change. We assure...

This b&b has a great pool and nice space. It is also close to a great little Maui town, Makawao. I would recommend as a good base for upcountry activities on Maui. The owner Marty is especially helpful and very zen Maui!

We stayed two nights here and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Bed is a bit too soft but that's just me. The pool is great! And the location is very convenient for the drive to Hana, as well as if you want to drive up the volcano crater to see sunrise - we didn't have to wake up until 3.45am, unlike...

Makawao is a neat little town on the "hillside". If you want a break from the beach resorts and the rain forest hotels, this is your place. The property is pretty large, with a big grass area and a pool. The rooms are clean and quiet. The owner Marty is such a nice guy. One night we bought some steaks...

This was the perfect option for my parents and I as we wanted to stay close to Haleakala for the sunrise. Our cottage was spacious but cozy with one queen and one king bed. It was close to Makawao town where we enjoyed a nice dinner. They even prepared a breakfast to go for us to take to the sunrise...

The suite I got was airy, roomy and sunny, surrounded by trees. It was like living in a tree house. It was serene and beautiful. The owners are very sweet and helpful. I needed some decaffeinated coffee and they got it for me by the next morning. I highly recommend it.

We only stayed 1 night but enjoyed the large room and wonderful fresh breakfast poolside. Our room was actually not ready for check in at 5:00 but the management was very apologetic. If you are on your way to Hana this is a wonderful place to stay and then start your journey.
