This is our third stay at Napili Shores and the second with Outrigger. I prefer booking through Outrigger because it is more hassle-free versus the issues (cleaning fees, service fees, facility charges...etc) we've had booking through other sites. Also, you can get fresh change of towels upon request, toiletries, one-time room service, front desk assistance, consistent room condition and no fees to pay when you arrive. Love the location of this resort and you get a lot for what you pay compared to other resorts (i.e. two pools, hot tub, large kitchens, beach access and amazing views). It's not as modern and upscale as other resorts but we love the laid back feel of Napili Shores and will be back!

Most welcoming resort I have ever stayed at. The staff is what will make you want to come back again. We were treated like family. The room was spotless we were given A one bedroom room 210 B with an incredible view from the balcony of the ocean. If you want to see great sunsets this is the place. The gazebo restaurant and the restaurant in the lobby are absolutely the best places to eat at. The food is amazing and the service is incredible and the people will treat you like you are a family member. The five dollar mai tais were so delicious at happy hour and the macadamia nut pancakes were fabulous at the gazebo restaurant. It is right on the water with two great swimming pools and a Jacuzzi. The grounds are beautiful. It’s only a few steps to the sandy beach and you can swim with the turtles and have a great time snorkeling or just floating on Rafts in the beautiful Bay. Please stay here when you go to Maui.

It was one of my most restful times on a vacation. I put a lot of thought in picking this location and it exceeded my expectations. First, it had a natural protective cove for snorkeling. Which was awesome for spoting local fish. Second, it had a beautiful view of the islands Launi and Moloki. Which in December is a good time to spot whales in between. When any were spotted we gleefully clanked a bell on site for just that purpose. Third, the site had a restaurant serving great food at reasonable prices and in the morning a little Tikki Hut made pancakes with macademia nuts in them. A final word of advice for those going to Hawaii in December. To get the most of the sunshine, get up early as the sun goes down around 6PM local time and there's really not much happening after dark in Maui.

The cleanliness of the rooms was very disappointing. There are ants everywhere! When I called to request housekeeping the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and told me I have to wait 3 days after arrival. I asked for fresh towels and she said it’s a $10 charge. Ridiculous! The rooms are dirty and the front desk is rude. Book somewhere else!

We have been to Maui a couple of dozen times and decided to go back on fairly short notice. The property we normally stay at didn't have availability for the duration we needed so we began looking at other places for a two nights before moving to our normal place. Since we always go to the Gazebo at Napili Shores for our first breakfast, we chose to give the Napili Shores a try.

We selected a garden view studio condo. We weren't expecting much as we knew this was an older property. Upon checking in we were given an ocean front studio with an incredible view of Molokai and Napili Bay. The condo was a bit dated, especially the bathroom. But it was sparkling clean and had what we needed for a comfortable stay.

The grounds are well-kept and the restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (5315) was quite good, especially during happy hour. Sadly though our plan to roll out of bed to the line for breakfast at Gazebo was thwarted as they had some equipment issues that required that they temporarily close to fix.

One of the things that you will need to do is strip the bed of linens and put those and the towels into large bags that they provide. From reading other reviews I noticed that some weren't happy about that but we had no problem with this request - it's just one more thing that we need to deal with due to Covid.

All in all it was a much more pleasant stay than we expected and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We have good friends who live nearby, and this was a wonderful spot to have our own “home” for a week.

We arrived late and the night manager gave us our key for the first night and I went back the next day to complete check in. Our kitchen was surprisingly well appointed, though that seems to depend on the unit. We moved furniture aside for a pull out couch and so our baby could play, and there was more open floor space than in our tiny San Francisco apartment! On site coin op laundry was super convenient, too. We never used the AC, keeping doors and louvers open kept everything reasonably cool.

We booked an Ocean View room, and while we did have an Ocean view from the lanai and the end of the couch, mostly the view was of the garden. This wasn’t a big deal, but next time I’d probably go for a garden view room. Plenty of places on the property to view the ocean, and an easy walk to the beach. I snorkeled in Napili Bay almost every day (and saw a turtle nearly every time!)

Our first morning I was shocked to see the massive line for The Gazebo restaurant. It was across the lawn from our room, but still jarring (I’m sure other reviews have mentioned this, it was like that every day) We just got take out there one morning and ate on our lanai, which is definitely the way to go. Saw other folks get take out and eat by the lower pool or the grills, too.

Baby enjoyed splashing in the upper pool (I think it’s heated) and the jacuzzi was nice after swimming, though sometimes crowded.

No beach chairs or other beach paraphernalia in the room, which would have been nice but there’s a water sports place near the front desk where I think rentals are available (our friends lent us chairs and we brought a shade tent for baby.)

Some slight shortages, not a big deal: There are two sets of BBQ grills. One evening there was high demand at the set near our room and we had to wait, but this wasn’t a big deal. One night we arrived back late and all parking spots on our side were full and we had to park on the other side of the property, closer to the restaurant parking.

A couple communication issues:
On Thursday they put up a sign that the upper pool would be closing Sunday night for a week. We were leaving Tuesday so this wasn’t a big deal for us, but that seemed to be a shock for other guests who were staying longer.

We also had some confusion over whether we had a late checkout (we thought so, housekeeping did not), so it seems the front desk staff was overwhelmed that day.

These were minor inconveniences. All in all, this was a great place to call home for a week, and we would definitely go back!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days during Thanksgiving 2022 and had never been to this area of Maui before. We were pleasantly surprised once we arrived and found a spacious studio unit located on some of the most beautiful grounds of any resort we have visited in Hawaii! The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, with healthy and colorful palms and plants, and staff constantly patrol in golf carts to monitor. Staff members are always friendly to guests/ condo owners, though it is a bit of an adjustment to remember they are only open until 7:00 pm (which can be inconvenient, as you trade in your beach towels for new ones there).
There are some electric grills around that are convenient to cook on, and we did not experience a line for these during our visit. This is not true, however, for the Gazebo breakfast/ brunch restaurant onsite, which is the *best* on the island and has folks lining up everyday before its 7:30 am opening (it is well worth the wait!).
There is no direct beach access, but the walk is literally a few feet. Beach itself is fantastic for surfing, but make sure to seat yourself farther up on the beach than you think you should if you want to avoid a sneaker wave soaking all your things.
Some caveats that keep it from being 5/5 stars is that the unit's bathroom was a bit dingy and dirty (though the rest of the condo was pristine) and if you do not have a car, it is a difficult trek to a store to get things like groceries, contact solution, and other sundries. The A/C unit in the condo was locked so that it did not get colder than 72 degrees, which my husband found a bit difficult for sleeping. Also, there are two pools onsite but only one hot tub, which was monopolized by one 7-member family almost the entire time, at all hours of the day, so that there was almost no chance to use it without squeezing in with this same handful of people. Chairs and space by the pools were abundant, however.
Overall a great experience and we would absolutely like to return for another visit next year!

This condo is a real find. The gardens are beautiful and most every room has a partial view of the ocean. The area is quiet and the rooms are great. Has a full size kitchen which is nice. You should plan on bringing you own coffee and tea, as they don't keep any on hand. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, glass wear, utensils, cups and cooking things. Both pools are great and a shot walk to a beauitful beach, white sands, clear water and a nice place to snorkel. The main restaurant is very good and average price for this area. You can walk to the coast trail and see some spectacular sites, sunsets etc. that you can't see by car. With all the Hawaiian trees and bushes this is a very romantic spot as well as a great spot for families. This is almost perfect.

Outstanding accommodations, staff and location exceeding my expectations immensely with a reasonable price. My room you could hear the ocean waves everyday and night and I did not have the ocean front room. The room was lovely, with everything that a small condo could offer except this was a hotel/resort! Easy access to two different types of restaurants on site which was lovely for those day when you did not want to drive and stay at the beach that the hotel offered. I had a wonderful time as well as my son and again, the beaches where breathtaking and clean as well as the resort too.!

I’ve been coming to Napili Shores for 10 years and I have to say unfortunately it’s gone a bit downhill. There is no security guard that monitors at night like before, keeping rowdy guests at bay. This is a chill spot. Not a party resort. My condo hasn’t updated their facilities for years, uncomfortable beds and people were smoking pot below my family members studio. I have no problem with smoking pot but not in the studio, go to the parking lot or beach/bluff area. I feel like the prices have gone up with no improvements to the general area or individual condos. There are a lot of views on Maui so be careful that you find a balance with price and accommodation. Also, no recycling? For an island that is trying to protect the aina, to have no ability to recycle is really upsetting.

Basic necessities are available, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, dishwashing liquid. I didn't see any cooking oil in our unit. No cooler either. There's a grilling equipment beside the swimming pool. I saw people using it, very convenient.
