Just logging on to give a shout out to Napili Shores staff on our most recent visit this December. Great customer service from Angel, Nate and many more! We always enjoy staying at this resort. Convenient location much calmer than some other areas on the island.
I stayed here for a week on my own and was pretty amazed by how supportive and kind the staff were. Mostly families stayed here which was nice too. Traveling alone as a young female can be a bit challenging sometimes and I'm happy to say that I felt safe and taken care of. I had a package arrive the day after i had already left for home.. the staff and manager were so helpful in getting it sent out to me right away. Overall experience at Napili Shores 10/10. Mahalo!
My husband and I stayed here for 3 days during Thanksgiving 2022 and had never been to this area of Maui before. We were pleasantly surprised once we arrived and found a spacious studio unit located on some of the most beautiful grounds of any resort we have visited in Hawaii! The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, with healthy and colorful palms and plants, and staff constantly patrol in golf carts to monitor. Staff members are always friendly to guests/ condo owners, though it is a bit of an adjustment to remember they are only open until 7:00 pm (which can be inconvenient, as you trade in your beach towels for new ones there). There are some electric grills around that are convenient to cook on, and we did not experience a line for these during our visit. This is not true, however, for the Gazebo breakfast/ brunch restaurant onsite, which is the *best* on the island and has folks lining up everyday before its 7:30 am opening (it is well worth the wait!). There is no direct beach access, but the walk is literally a few feet. Beach itself is fantastic for surfing, but make sure to seat yourself farther up on the beach than you think you should if you want to avoid a sneaker wave soaking all your things. Some caveats that keep it from being 5/5 stars is that the unit's bathroom was a bit dingy and dirty (though the rest of the condo was pristine) and if you do not have a car, it is a difficult trek to a store to get things like groceries, contact solution, and other sundries. The A/C unit in the condo was locked so that it did not get colder than 72 degrees, which my husband found a bit difficult for sleeping. Also, there are two pools onsite but only one hot tub, which was monopolized by one 7-member family almost the entire time, at all hours of the day, so that there was almost no chance to use it without squeezing in with this same handful of people. Chairs and space by the pools were abundant, however. Overall a great experience and we would absolutely like to return for another visit next year! …
The appartments seem a bit outdated and dark and could use some refurbishment. We could hear the Arguments of our neighbours. The whole area is beautiful though with a large garden and two pools. Theres no direct beach access which was a bit of a let down. You can See a beautiful Sunset each day by the shore though and the Breakfast/ lunch Restaurant The Gazebo is top notch. There was no House Keeping during our stay of 5 Nights (because of Covid, yeah sure) which we didnt Expect. The staff at the reception was untipically unfriendly. It was alright, but wouldnt choose to Stay there again as it is also pretty far from what you might want to visit in Maui (Haleakala, Road to Hana).
We actually rented through a property management group but got a great last-minute rate and was able to pick our unit. We had a ground floor oceanfront unit in the "I" building and I would highly recommend this building as it is very private and had amazing views. The resort itself is older and upon arrival seemed a bit run down, but once into the courtyard/garden area it was much more like what was advertised on the site. It was well kept and had a pool and hot tub in the garden area, and a decent sized pool by the ocean and Gazebo restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed the oceanside pool several times and once in the evening during sunset we had it to ourselves and it was like our own private pool with the most amazing view. Joanne at the front desk was very personable and provided excellent customer service for us. The resort is more low-key and note the condos are only 2 stories high, which makes it more appealing for those who don't like big high-rise buildings. They have a shuffleboard and some kind of checkers game outdoors, but both looked rundown and old. The downside was that there was roofing going on and there was construction equipment and vehicles that blocked access and parking. We were not made aware. Lucky for us we arrived when the roofers were done with the major work on our building and the most noise was during the first day. Our neighbors who arrived a few days before were not as lucky and said it was horrible for a while. The other bad part was the walls were not soundproof at all, so we heard every little noise upstairs and next to us although we had courteous neighbors. The access to the beach was quick and easy and there are some rocks right below that you can walk over and explore the sea life in all the little places. I thought this was fun to explore and there were a lot of excited children. The snorkeling was awesome. We saw lots of fish and turtles all very close to shore. It's quieter in the mornings but the beach got really busy in the day. There are some great places for walking close by. They have 2 restaurants, and although we did not try either one, the Gazebo is supposed to be amazing and they had long lines every morning for breakfast. Our unit was a studio and had a well-stocked kitchen. The A/C unit kept it very comfortable. The bathroom was efficient. No washer/dryer in the unit but I was told there were some on site by the lobby. Definitely could tell was older but was clean and our bed was comfortable. I would recommend either staying in the "I" building or possible the "A" building, as both have ocean views and more privacy out on the lanai. I would also recommend renting your unit through a rental site such as VRBO to pick your unit to know exactly what you are getting. Also checking with the resort if there is construction going on, as there seems to be a lot of that going on throughout the areas we visited. We may not have rented knowing this was going on. Overall, I would consider staying here again, but only in the "I" or "A" buildings.…
A perfect vacation with kids. Lots of lawns and space. 2 swimming pools. A beautiful beach in walking distance directly from the porch. Nothing is crowded. The ocean view room was big, with a fully equippted kitchen and a sperate bedroom for us adults. Everything is well maintained. While we were there (Aug 22') there was some rennovation work done which was a bit annoying but not too much. If we have the chance, we will return.
This place is terrible. If there is a problem., the front desk closes before 8:00. Kids, most without parental supervision are allowed to yell and scream in the pool all evening, forcing many guests not to be able to spend the evening on their lanais--and Marco Polo , which is against the rules go on for hours. Annoying and not what the islands are here for, This place needs a management who cares, not one who seems to never be there.
My husband myself and our 2 year old recently booked a stay from June 29-July 5 at Outrigger Napili Shores and we need a 3rd night from our recent stay refunded, and I need a customer service executive from the outrigger company (not at Napili Shores) to read over our experience with this location and call me. We experienced a roach infestation in our room and upon discovering it we immediately left - there were over 20 roaches in our room. On top of that when we first checked into the room it was not clean - the bathroom was very dirty and there were lots of ants. We didn’t complain then because we didn’t want to be difficult, but the roaches were the last straw. We left at 10 pm Saturday night upon seeing the roaches, even though our hotel was booked through July 5. We had to pay for 3 nights hotel stay elsewhere. When we contacted the hotel they were unapologetic, blaming us at times saying they only saw one roach after we left and their maid saw crumbs on the floor (there probably were crumbs because we shook everything out before we left and packed in a huge rush to avoid taking any roaches with us) , had incorrect information about our check out date (Joanne argued with me basically accusing me of lying because she thought our check out date was July 4 - I had to verbatim read her the email confirming our reservation for her to go “oh it’s July 5”), and ultimately only were offering to refund us 2 nights, until I spoke to Joanne’s manager who said he would refund us 3 nights. Since that point I’ve gone back and forth with Priceline and the hotel, and now the hotel is saying they’ll only refund 2 nights because we checked out at 10 pm Saturday night (right when we saw the roaches) and not by their 11am check out time. How could we check out at 11am if we hadn’t seen the roaches yet?? I expect a phone call, a refund for the 3rd night of our stay, and an apology for this atrocious experience. The management at the hotel was rude, unapologetic, and ultimately unhelpful in resolving the issue. I’ve previously stayed at the Outrigger on the Big Island in Kona with my mom and had a great stay - this was the complete opposite experience. I would never stay with Outrigger again after what we experienced and would warn all my friends and family to avoid outrigger with the way this has been handled so far . Anyone traveling with young toddlers would understand how inconvenient, unsafe, and unhealthy this experience was and how much it disrupted our vacation. Thank you for listening and I hope to hear from someone soon…
Napili shores By Outrigger is a quaint little resort with kitchenette-equipped rooms. Nice location, quiet and peaceful. Two pools one overlooking the ocean. On-site barbeque grills for cooking. Not a lot of frills, which lends to being more affordable, and nonetheless relaxing!
Beautiful place. Perfect location for family low key vacation. After reading reviews I was concerned about the unit’s A/C but we had cero issues. Very cool room. My room had a fully equipped kitchen. Perfect Beach for swimming and snorkeling. Turtles presents too. The only bad thing was lobby hours from 9am to 7pm is a joke. You need to get your beach towels at the front desk and that schedule is ridiculous. Also bad was that we didn’t have housekeeping service due to covid (even though there is cero covid restriction in the state of Hawaii…time to move on).
