For anyone planning on a trip to Hawaii, I highly recommend Maui. If you are looking for something other than the cookie cutter "Resort Experience" consider the Best Western Pioneer Inn located on the Lahaina waterfront, at the Marina. It just drips with whaling history and is a take off and landing point for many water based activities. Rooms are...

Just by luck, we found this hotel available during our visit. We went to Maui to see the golf tournament at Kapalua. Many of the hotels in the surrounding area was either full or very expensive! It was very convenient to many shops and restaurants, but a bit too touristy for us. It is located right on the wharf and...

Pioneer Inn is a historic building however it has been let to run down to a very poor condition which is a shame as it is in a great area and very convenient to shops, restaurants etc. We stayed for 5 nights. Off site parking can be an issue as it is a paid public car park and certain times...

Aaron First, thank you for choosing to stay with us at the historic Best Western Pioneer Inn. We are in the process of making improvements and welcome your comments. You have highlighted some of the challenges we face being a historic Inn in the heart of town such as limited available parking and the misuse of our lobby restrooms. We...

very convenient , caring and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of old Lahaina. The hotel has parking and its close to all the businesses and shops. The rooms were very clean, i like the fact that all the rooms have a balcony with chairs and tables outside.

The Pioneer in is NOT your typical Best Western. It is an older facility sited right in the middle of almost everything; ocean, beach, shopping, restaurants, shopping, relaxing places, shopping, Banyan Tree Park, and shopping. We are in our later 60's and walked everywhere, meaning a rental car is not necessary. The Pioneer Inn also has its own restaurant and...

We chose to go Whale Watching on Christmas Morning at 6:30am so this necessitated finding accommodations close where the boats launch for the trips. In this case, it was literally a 2 minute walk from the Hotel to the Boat. This was necessary due to the very tight schedule on Christmas Day. The day started with the whale watching trip,...

This is not a 5 star resort but I felt like I was staying in one. The location alone is comparable. We had no idea when booking this hotel how convenient the location would be to where we wanted to be. Positives - On front street, easy walk to all the shops, restaurants and entertainment. - FREE PARKING DOWNTOWN!!! -...

I remember staying here back in the 1980's and 1990's. Revisited and still great. This is one of my favorite classic hotels. Great location in Lahaina. You could watch the booze cruise take off every night. There was a band every night which kept the place fired up. It was only $50 per night back in those days so prices...

We stayed for 3 nights & it was well worth it. Right in the middle of everything. Right next to the dock, right next to the lovely park with the largest banyan tree in Hawaii, near downtown shops & restaurants. We stayed in several different places on the island of Maui but decided to try this hotel because of its...
