We had a great time staying here! The Aloha spirit is very present here! Everyone was so kind and nice. The hotel itself was charming and great location for shopping/dinning/convivence. We loved the restaurants on site and loved the free educational classes at the resort. Can't wait to visit our Ohana there again!
Note: As far as room accommodations, this review is for the premium rooms. The grounds are well kept. The location is probably one of the prime beachfront properties in Maui and the staff is very friendly and courteous.
From the moment you arrive and throughout your stay, staff are full of Aloha spirit. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the food is great, and the provided cultural experiences are unsurpassed. As it is not corporate owned, staff are genuine and will share the unvarnished truth about the History of Maui. The overall value can't be beat.
This hotel was wonderful! It had everything that we needed: multiple dining options, activities, pool, close to shopping center, beautiful sand beach, beach walk, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and well kept outdoor areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Everything about our stay was wonderful. The room was pleasant, the entire staff was amazing, the resort is so full of life and love of the island! The beach is perfect…not terribly crowded, but certainly not dead either. We will definitely be back!
If you walk the beach path you would think you're at one of many similar beaches in the world - until you get to KBH. This is the only hotel with a real Hawaiian feel and I'm so glad we stayed here. The staff was friendly, the location convenient to all our needs. Huihui restaurant was amazing - we had a wonderful complete Thanksgiving meal there - thank you so much for that! Our room was clean & comfortable with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Very few rooms here truly overlook the beach so I wouldn't recommend paying extra for an ocean view. The walk to Whaler's Village is only 4 minutes, the Sheraton & Black Rock snorkeling/jumping is 2 minutes - so you have complete flexibility to find other restaurants and spots on the beach to enjoy.
The KBH grounds are amazing, from the lush green grass to the big sandy/ocean property. The hotel is truly the Most Hawaiian Hotel in the area. You don’t go to Maui to stay at a resort and sit by a pool all day, you go to learn the culture and explore the island. This place has all the knowledge you need to know as where to go for excursions and how the locals do stuff. The staff is extremely caring and helpful and you can tell that they love what they do. Will definitely be back soon!!
My wife and I stayed here and found it to be a perfect place to holiday. Great location, just steps away from the beach and only a short walk to Whalers Village. Great amenities, the gardens and pool are beautiful … and the rooms are just next level comfy. We also found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, even coming in as late as 11pm. Top notch!
We should have been told that reservations were necessary before showing up to eat that 1st night. Also, we should have been told that there was no breakfast served on the property that 1st morning. Location & property were beautiful. I especially enjoyed the weaving class.
Front desk and manager and housekeeping were all extremely helpful in making our stay on Maui a great vacation. We highly recommend. Rooms were updated, super clean and the best we encountered on our three island vacation. We will definitely stay here on any future trips.
