Days Inn Maui Oceanfront is literally a few steps away from a nice sandy beach. There are no restaurants in the premises nor are there any pools. The nearest strip mall is about 1.5 miles away.
The front desk staff members were not very accommodating. I tried to pay with a debit card but they refused to accept it. I asked for a late check out to wait for my shuttle to the airport and they charged me $50 plus taxes for 2-1/2 hours extra stay. I asked if I could store my one bag in the front desk area while waiting for the shuttle and they refused.
The rooms are clean. The cleaning staff do a good job. My TV was not working and it took until the next day to replace it. The room has a microwave and a small refrigerator.
The front desk provides a beach towel which has to be returned to avoid having to pay for it. There are no elevators for guests on the second floor so carrying a heavy bag up the stairs can be a challenge.
The beach was sandy and not good for snorkeling. There was no shower to rinse after the beach on the hotel property but the next door hotel has one that Days Inn guests could use.
I will probably book in a hotel in Lahaina next time because taxi fare from Days Inn to the Lahaina wharf cost me $80 while the whale watching tour was only $49.
The room cost me $207 per night. Very expensive. No coffee maker in the room and no ice tray. I wasn't very happy with my stay here.

Where to start...Our hotel does not take debit cards or cash. A major credit card is needed to check in. Our restaurant closed due to covid restrictions and new tenant will open in the next few months. At the hotel next door, the Five Palms Restaurant, offers our guests 20% off. They also have a deli, Zack's, that offers our guests 10% off. We are unable to hold luggage due to covid restrictions on the island and our limited space. There is a late check out fee for anything after 12pm. Coffee machines and ice are offered at the front desk, again due to covid restrictions on the island. We do have a shower for our guests and the public to use when leaving the beach. And yes we have a sandy beach. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations.

If you do not mind the small size of the room, this is perhaps the best value for your money in Wailea-Kihei area. The Hotel is right on the beach. You walk out into the sand. Parking is free. The room has hand showers, microwave, fridge, etc. Location is very convenient, within striking distance of high-end restaurants, as well as not so high-end places.

No free breakfast - no breakast at all. The restaurant has been closed for a long time and the restaurant next door is expensive and closed for breakfast 2 days a week. We reserved a "queen" bed and got a "double". Good thing too because the room is TINY so a true "queen" would have made moving around in the room much worse than the difficulty experienced. Be prepared for large cockroaches. Internet was spotty and not reliable for business use. Very clean. Nice staff. Good snorkling on nice beach just a short walk away.

The Hotel is right by a nice beach and the location is super central for snorkelling activities. it is in the very south of Kihei, so you dont have to drive long ways for snorkelling in the nature preserve park or in the really pricey Weilea, and also not far to the harbour for Molokini or whale whatching trips. often when we did enter the Water near the Hotel we coud see turtles right there and the whales are anyway all over if you are in southeast Maui in Winterime. The rooms are clean and you get fresh beach towels as often as you like - the only drawback is: nothing dries in the room. The nearby restaurands are good but on the rather pricy side, but there is no far drive to bunches of other great restaurants like the Kuhei Caffee or the places at Azeka.

Paid $350 for this place and I didn't think it was worth it. We arrived at 12Pm after an 11hour flight and I was told check-in was at 3pm. The hotel wasn't busy and I could tell that rooms were open. The room was small and the walls are paper thin. I stayed last year at Aston Maui Banyan. It has a much better walking location(closer to great restaurants and food trucks, but you do have to walk across the street to get to beach.

If you're looking for deluxe accommodations, this is not the place. If you want a clean room with great value on one of Maui's best beaches, this is for you.
This is our fourth stay here, but our first time here in several years. The rooms are small, and for the most part have very limited views. But the staff is phenomenal, the rooms and the grounds are very clean. Most importantly, you are literally steps away from Keawakapu Beach.
Since we last stayed here, there have been some updates. Most of the units have updated AC, from noisy old wall units, to new mini split units that cool great without much noise. This is huge. Rooms include a refrigerator a microwave and a Keurig too. While wifi is weak, Verizon service is strong.
The rooms are small enough that if you have a lot of luggage, chairs, boogie boards etc, you're going to have to be creative to store it all.
Beach towels and breakfast snacks are provided in the office. They do have a limited supply of beach chairs available that essentially were left behind by previous guests. We were able to use two very nice Tommy Bahama chairs for the week.
There are some negatives to be aware of and this has nothing to do with the hotel management or owners. The 5 Palms restaurant next door is permanently closed and a replacement restaurant is one year out. Sarentos Restaurant has also permanently closed. Previously both offered early bird and happy hour dining that meant never getting in the car.
The 808 General Store at the Mana Kai next store has good lunch selections and limited breakfast options. You probably will need to drive for dinner options. Sarentos formerly shared the parking lot with the Days Inn. Now that they are closed, parking is much easier.
Lastly the outdoor showers near the beach are out of order. That made washing feet, sandals and water toys complicated. We used the private shower next door at the Mana Kai, but then you have to walk back through some mud. I believe that outdoor shower by the Days Inn actually is a part of the Maui County park.

The restaurants closed during covid and with staffing issues on the island, few are reopening. We have upgraded to the fastest internet offered on island and continue to search for better connections and services for your guests. Thank you for the feedback.

This place is so close to the beach and quiet. There is good snorkeling right off the beach; we even saw turtles swimming under us. The rooms are small, but adequate and clean. We had to figure out how to access our suitcases in the small space, but the price makes it well worth it, because all other hotels on the beach are more than double the cost. We stayed there 3 nights at the beginning of our trip, and 1 night at the end. We loved it.

It has been few months ago, but I've stumbled on their business cards few days ago and I wanted to put in writing once for all the experience.
As I;ve said in the title, the position is really good. but the facility is probably 30-40 years old with bare minimum maintenance. The room was at "motel style" level and I have regretted my decision to go for their accommodation without doing a proper window shopping in advance looking for a better solution. I do understand that in Hawaii everything is quite expensive but I can guarantee you that with the same amount of money you can find much better (B'n'B for example). Our room wasnlt clean, mold everywhere, restroom has seen better days.
I had the room facing the big building on the side and close to the main street and the main parking lot of the hotel. Very noisy. Listen to me: look for somewhere else.

Room was small as we all expected, however, maid need to clean floor as most people wearing slipper walking in & out in the room to the beach. Floor was kinda sticky. Bathroom need to install some shelf for shampoo, conditioner, soap, also need light in the shower and ventilators. Opening the window is not ideal as small buds will come in. Good things are beach is right behind our room with free parking.

Bad wi-fi—frequently not connected to the internet. No breakfast even though it’s listed as an amenity on the website and restaurant at next door hotel where they offered discount wasn’t open for breakfast the day we were there. Room smelled musty. It is walking distance to a beach. No luggage storage due to covid but fortunately our next place did have it as we didn’t have a rental car. Staff is extremely pleasant.

The restaurant is closed. We have ocean front suites overlooking the beach. Partial oceanview and rooms you can see ocean from window but are no "on the beach"
Its a OK motel...for a short term stay...
..For a longer term stay.. you can find better places to stay...try the Marriott Wailea. ask for a deal...
The restaurant is closed. THe 2 lower suites now have doors to the lanai up front. Beautiful views and great place to listen to the waves.
They advertise that they have roll-away beds and cribs available, so they probably only charge for adults in the room, not children (so "2" on your reservation means 2 adults and your child stays free).
Yes, 2 restaurants - Sorrentos "joined at the hip", buts up next to the 'oceanview' rooms, do not stay in these rooms. Like sitting in on a stranger's dinner. We will not stay there again. Other restaurant is 5 Palms 1/2 block next door.
This hotel may be ok for 1 nite only. Tiny rooms, like a broom closet.
Best points of this hotel...few steps to beach.
For best breakfast, drive to Fred's.
