Brand new everything! The kitchen was fully stocked with dinnerware and cookware. Roomy. Great views and the kids loved the waterslide. Friendly staff. Can't wait to go back! It was close to the airport 20 min drive. Close to Safeway open 24 hours to get groceries.

🌴🌺 Maui Bay Villas - A Tranquil Haven for Unforgettable Sunsets 🌅🏖️

During our October stay at Maui Bay Villas, my teenage son and I were greeted by the breathtaking beauty of Maui's coastline and the promise of a serene tropical retreat. The resort, though currently undergoing construction, managed to provide a peaceful and rejuvenating escape, leaving us enamored with its charm.

Sunset enthusiasts, like my son and I, were treated to an unparalleled spectacle each evening. The resort's prime location gifted us with mesmerizing sunset views, painting the skies with vibrant hues of orange and pink, creating an enchanting backdrop against the tranquil waters.

Despite the ongoing construction, the tranquility of Maui Bay Villas was preserved. The staff went above and beyond to ensure minimal disturbance, and their amiable demeanor added a welcoming touch to our stay. Their friendliness and willingness to assist with any request greatly enhanced our overall experience.

While the ambiance and scenery were exceptional, one aspect that fell a tad short was the limited dining options available on the property. Although the quality of food served was satisfactory, having a wider variety would have added more culinary delight to our stay.

Exploring nearby eateries became part of our adventure, allowing us to savor the diverse flavors of Maui.

In summary, Maui Bay Villas is a hidden gem offering stunning sunsets, a welcoming beach club, and a serene ambiance despite ongoing construction. The friendly staff contributed to a memorable stay, even though the dining choices on-site were somewhat limited. For those seeking tranquility amidst tropical beauty, this is an idyllic escape worth considering.

We were at this resort for 2 weeks in January.
Here’s the good part of our stay at this resort . The resort rooms are excellent. They have tons of storage and a lot of nice touches such as the bidet, washer/dryer and shower with dual shower heads. The staff is excellent and delivered anything we needed promptly with a smile. We enjoyed the pool although the adult pool water was very cold. Parking was ample and free.

The negative issues are due to the location of the resort. There is a river of mud near the entrance of the resort. It rained the day we arrived and the roads near the resort were flooded with water and mud. We entered through the construction entrance. The very small beach area contained muddy water. It rained again the first week and people had to be rescued from their vehicles by helicopter in the street next to the resort. The rain caused a power outage one night and then a water main burst which left us with no water. Obviously, Maui does not have the infrastructure to handle all of the problems in Kihei with rain and mud. This is an ongoing issue that dates back many years. We found drone video from December of 2021 that looked like our rain and mud issues.
In addition, with the roads around the resort closed, we and everyone else had to drive out to the highway to get anywhere. So the traffic was frustrating.

Lastly as this resort is still under construction we knew things might not be all up and running. We had hoped for a beach vacation. If this is your reason for staying here, then don’t.

My stay was very disappointing. The only good thing about this stay was the staff. I had 2 separate rooms and I was given one on the 1st floor and one on the 3rd floor which both were accessible rooms. Thank goodness we do not need accessible rooms. The shower no bigger than a cruise ship shower let alone with a fold down chair on the wall. Honestly I am not sure how someone who uses a wheelchair can even attempt to get into it. The all in one washer/dryer is absolutely useless. After 12 hours my clothes were almost dry and wrinkled. The maintenance guy did come and he explained how it worked and he did warn me about taking hours to dry. The property is advertised as a couple minute walk to the beach which has no beach chairs/umbrella so then if you do venture to it you would have to go buy chairs and then get the pleasure of carrying them while crossing a busy road. What it fails to mention is it is a public beach which has signs the park is closed and homeless sleep there and the public fish so I couldn’t even attempt to take my family there. Who wants to go to Maui and not be able to use a beach? The piece of a beach by the Oceanside pool has signs not to use the steps so not sure how to get to it since there are rocks around it. We were told this pool was an adult only pool which also I don’t think is advertised. The resort is in the middle of the area where after 12:00 noon it gets really windy so you can’t enjoy just laying in the lounge chairs unless you want to fight the wind. The only good thing is the resort side pool is amazing. I would have been very disappointed if this was our 1st visit and luckily we stayed at the Grand Wailea first and only had 3 days at the villas.

As we are sitting at the airport waiting to go home from a beautiful trip to Maui the low point was the Hilton Grand vacation villas. The promise of a restaurant, hot tub and a grab and go. All were lacking in so many ways. The hot tub was at 95 we let the hotel know early in our visit and nothing happened the entire week. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday which then is only open from noon to 6p with a very limited menu of items. Seemed as the same as the grab and go. The grab and closes at 3pm so if you are out and wanted a snack you are out of luck . Heading to the beach you'll be disappointed as well. It's not a beach that you really can swim in the water is turning up all the time. Additionally if you go to the pool on the beach side the bushes are so high you don't get to enjoy the views of the water. This was so from from a beach vacation that our veiw of the construction site proved when all built out you will never see the beach. The fact that they are charging over $700+ a night is mind blowing. There is nothing here worth even half that amount. The up side the room was very clean but nothing added. The furniture was uncomfortable and a terrible design choice for paradise. Hilton has been our go to hotels around the world. We are think twice about our Dimond status now.

Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to be in a central location at a nice resort. The resort itself I very nice and obviously brand new. We are big pool people and that was one of the big draws as the pool is large, multilevel and has a lot of activities at it. The water was perfect temp the whole time and never felt cold once. The rooms were awesome and felt very large. We were in a two bedroom and our family of four had plenty of room. The master bathroom was large and the spare bathroom was good sized as well. It was weird there wasn't a bathtub which did make it hard for our young ones. Kitchen wise it was large and very well equipped. We cooked 5 of our 7 nights. The stuff I could like to see changed. I would love to see pool service over the walk up pool bar. It just makes vacation that much easier. The bartending staff was also really inconsistent with the drinks they made. Day one we had Mia Ties there were made with sour mix, the next day they had Malibu in them, then the next day the pours were very light. The grab and go had very weird hours and never seemed open. They did offer free shave ice one day, and we were lucky to make it and get some for the kids. This is something that they can't change but this is on the windy part of the island. The mornings were nice and the late afternoons were nice but from around 12-230 every day the wind blows like crazy. The pool was warm enough that the wind didn't matter but they would make you put the umbrellas down. Over all we liked the resort and we will return.

On Maui’s South side, lies this expansive timeshare resort. It’s open and there is much building work going on to complete this lovely resort destination. There are numerous pools, mature gardens and a gym to enjoy. The villas are beautifully complete with full kitchens, washer/dryers and a rain shower - all tastefully decorated. There is a clubhouse and a pool bar, too. The resort is close to shopping and restaurants and with a rental car you’ll be close to all the sightseeing.
Staff are helpful and courteous. I mean, what’s not to like.

The site is under construction and there are no typical Hilton amenities. The pool and hot tubs are great as they include use of outdoor cabanas and a fun slides. No restaurant or food of any kind is available on site but each room comes with a functional kitchenette. Be sure to book excursions at least 3 days in advance as they book up fast. There are great eateries about 5-10 minutes away by car.

We knew that the Maui Bay was yet to be complete so we were not expecting perfection. However , there’s absolutely no restaurants , bars, food, and it’s clearly not staffed bc we needed a larger room that we had booked . We were told continuously that the resort was sold out when clearly it was no where near capacity. The staff is nice and polite it’s just not ready for what you expect in Hawai’i!

We were initially placed in room 8105 in which the A/C was non-functional. We were informed that there was a portable A/C in the room and that we had no other option. This problem was well known to the staff since they continually had to move guests from the room within one day of check-in (if possible). There also seemed to be no plan in place to resolve the issue. This room needs to be removed from inventory. The portable A/C is in the bedroom and is running at 65 decibels which is between normal conversation and a vacuum cleaner. Try to either sleep while too warm or in a room that is too noisy. The room that we moved to after the first night was up to usual HGVC standards. All support staff were excellent, but some of the front desk staff were very unfriendly. However, Marianne and Natalie were great. All front desk staff should be so fantastic. Phillip from the bell staff was also excellent.

Good question. We didn't need to use one this time so I don't know at this HGV, but many of the others I have stayed at in Oahu and Big Island did. You'll have to ask.
