We just returned from Hawaii a week ago, and we can't wait to go back! The Rainbow Lookout was absolutely fabulous, the perfect little home for two. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the house was extremely private. You don't have to see another soul the whole time you're there if you don't want to, but you can always count on...

Jim and I spent 2 beautiful weeks at Huelo Point and will go back again someday! We found it so relaxing and beautiful that our departure day came and we had to scramble to get to the airport. We could have stayed forever. Loved the frogs/bamboo/bananas/ant spray/golf/hosts and especially "cat", who made herself to home during our stay. Very private!

We rented the whole Lookout House (upstairs and down) for a family trip for my husband and I, our two kids (ages 6 and 9), and my parents-in-law. It was WONDERFUL. Jeff & Sharyn are fantastic hosts, first of all; they were available at any time to answer questions, offer suggestions, etc, and yet were never ever obtrusive or underfoot....

Myself, my husband, and both of our immediate families stayed here during the week leading up to our wedding. Extremely peaceful, gorgeous views, friendly owners, and all the eggs you can eat from the on site chickens. This is the place to stay if you like an out of the way/peaceful vacation (definitely not for resort junkies as there is...

My husband and I stayed 1 week at Huelo Point as the start off to our honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased with our decision to stay there. Sharyn is an amazing host and, as many other reviewers have pointed out, strikes a wonderful balance of being welcoming and available but always giving you your privacy. The...

After staying at Huelo Point in February I really do not know why anyone would choose to stay in a hotel on Maui. This was the most relaxing, romantic and secluded spot I have ever stayed in. My husband and I had a night in Honolulu on each side of our trip to Maui and what a contrast that was!...

A genuine Hawaiian experience. From Sharyn's warm welcome to her equally warm farewell, we enjoyed nothing but real hospitality during our all too short stay at Huelo Point. The setting is incredibly lush with amazing tropical flowers all around the cabins. Our cabin was very private, clean and comfortable, and even came complete with a visiting cat - "Flash". This...

We spent about 10 days at this wonderful place. Everything was perfect from Sharyn's warm welcome to the perfect location in the less touristy part of Maui's North shore. Without mentioning all those attentions which made our stay so special (organic food, delicious fruit, sharing herb garden, etc.) and the Jacuzzi in the garden right under the stars. We highly...

Wonderful owners Jeff and Sharyn shared this oasis with us for a week. We had a great time, much of it spent at Haleakala Cottage. Super clean, Eco friendly, affordable. Hosts are great info sources for first time Maui visitors. We would stay there again, for sure.

My husband and I stayed at the Rainbow Cottage for our honeymoon 10 years ago and just returned for our 10 year anniversary. The place has not changed and was just as kept up and nice as it was 10 years ago. If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing, away from it all get-away...this is your place! Sharyn was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Huelo Point Lookout offers a four unique choices - one 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home and 3 cottage style accommodations. We're very much for the alternative, independent type of traveler who loves the freedom of being able to prep his/her own meals and just relax into the island vibe (and saving a little money along the way). We've been offering our 'aloha' since 1994, and are a legally permitted business (permit # BBPH 0015/2009) so your reservation is always guaranteed to be secure. This is Maui's north shore - the 'real' Maui, not just the 'hotel' version ... A perfect place to experience 'living' here, rather than just making a flying visit. Maui is gorgeous! Take the time to enjoy it! ... more   less
