Stayed in Dec. 2016 with my wife for 3 nights. The Haiku Inn is indeed an historic and charming place to stay. The owner, Sandy, is very friendly and a little quirky, which describes the locale in general. There are a number of good, reasonably priced restaurants within a 2 minute drive in downtown Haiku. The location is prime to...

The owner, Sandy, is open hearted, talkative, and a great source of information about Maui -- what to see, where to eat, and so on. She made both of us feel loved -- that is very important to us. The house is an historical resource on a very lovely plot of land full of fruit trees. Sandy could not put...

First, I had so much fun shopping for ornaments, a little Santa surprise, for Christmas morning. Thanks so much for posting that photo and it will serve as a reminder how wonderful it is to stay in a bed and breakfast and make new friends along the way. We really enjoyed having you both here and look forward to your...

Set in a tropical paradise this old plantation made us feel like we were stepping back into the "authentic" Hawaii. Sandy was delightful and always helpful. One feels one is staying in a friend's home.

My wife and I wanted to be away from the resorts and crowds. We found the real paradise of Maui. Hidden away in the quiet town of Haiku, this is the perfect setting for an intimate getaway. Short drive to all the sights. The owner; Sandy was very accommodating and the place was beautiful, well kept. Will go back again.

We enjoyed the relative quiet and being away from the hustle and bustle for a relaxing five-night stay. The room was clean and met our needs perfectly. Breakfasts were excellent and featured a variety of fresh fruit and one morning even had an avocado from a tree on the property. The bread and bagel selection was good, flavored yogurt was...

Mahalo for the kind words and the great description of our large continental breakfast. The county has restrictions on what permitted bed and breakfasts are allowed to serve. Many only provide a bagel or muffin or really no breakfast because of this rule. We believe in guest service and enjoy spending time in the mornings with our guests as well....

The haiku plantation is a wonderful and peaceful place for your little getaway. The woman who was taking care of us was very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was a wonderful collection of fruit, bagels and excellent banana bread - remember that b&bs usually don't have a permission for preparing cooked meals on the islands. The Haiku plantation inn is...

My husband & I just stayed at the inn this week. We love all things old. 150 yr old home. Full of charm and comfort. Super clean. The grounds are beautiful. And you're made to feel right at home from the second you get there. We were looking to experience Hawaii in a noncommercialized way. The way the island used...

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at Haiku Plantation Inn! We chose to stay at a B&B as opposed to a resort to save money and get some local flavor while visiting Maui. Sandy's house is a beautiful historic home with all sorts of charming architectural details and a gorgeous, lush yard. Waking up every morning to...

This is the second year we have started our Hawaii visit with 4 nights at the Haiku Plantation with Sandy. We enjoyed the stay even more this year. The breakfasts feature lots of fresh fruit, which we really appreciate. The other guests were all pleasant and relaxed. Sandy was her effervescent self and full of all sorts of info on...

What a delightful way to enjoy the real Hawaii rather than the insanity and tourist-infused West side of Maui. Here, in the quiet neighborhood of the plantation region where the Baldwins chose to build their majestic estate, life is pure local in feeling. Give me this ambiance anytime compared to the craziness that most unsuspecting and naive tourists experience. Having...
