We stayed at this Sheraton in May, 2021 as our family's first venture away from home since Covid began. As soon as we got back home I immediately rebooked for this May and we just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at this hotel. Being there that long not only gave us the opportunity to fully relax and unwind, but also gave us the opportunity to get to know the staff. Lissa Fu, who initially checked us in when we arrived, was wonderful. Not only welcoming and helpful at the beginning of our stay, but throughout it! And that was true for ALL of the staff: from the woman who helped us check-out bicycles to Karen the concierge (who shared with us great tips and recommendations that helped us enjoy our time even more on the island, including arranging an in-room massage for us), everyone was warm, welcoming and kind. And special thanks to the wait-staff in the restaurant who helped us start each day off with a delicious breakfast and a smile. We will definitely be back!…
Let me first start off by saying I personally work for a travel management company and the overall customer service to F&B to housekeeping was amazing! I’m a tough critic when it comes to writing reviews and the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach did not disappoint. Intro: 10/10 I booked the Costco Travel deal because it included the room/tax, upgraded ocean view room, waived $32 resort fee, and a car rental. The upgraded ocean view was the most important to me because when you request room types at the front desk remember it’s a “request” not a guarantee. Check-In: 10/10 Upon arriving to the hotel, a young gentleman greeted us and unloaded our luggage along with our entire Costco purchase. I requested an early check-in via mobile app and when I got to the hotel guess what?! It wasn’t ready at 2pm… so instead of complaining I tipped the front desk agent $10 bucks let her know I wanted the 4th floor corner room and I’ll wait until check-in time. I headed to the bar near the pool had one drink and about 30 minutes later they called me saying the room was ready. Front desk authorized $300 for the security deposit which I thought was cheap compared to my hotel its $500. I called the Bell desk, and the same guy came to drop off our luggage about 10-minutes later. Housekeeping: 11/10 When I got to the room I did my own personal housekeeping inspection, and she exceeded all my expectations. I wish I remembered her name because we interacted almost daily since I usually decline housekeeping service, and I never had a problem getting anything I needed (friendly suggestion, please tip your housekeeper at the end of c/o these individuals literally go above and beyond to pick up after you). I stood in room 474 for about a week and let me tell you it had the perfect view of the pool and ocean. My husband and I ate at the restaurant almost daily for breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious. One thing to note is the TV connection was terrible, nothing to major to complain about since I brought my own fire stick tv to stream shows and movies. Amenities: 10/10 We utilized almost all the amenities at the hotel and had no major complaints about the rental gear/bikes. We became friends quickly with the bell desk because we saw them every morning when we rented the beach gear which was a huge plus since it made our lounging by beach even better. Just a suggestion, I would rent your gear as early as possible in the morning to ensure you get what you wanted (i.e. beach chairs, beach mat & umbrella). Also, I forgot to mention I really appreciated the washer/dryer on my floor near the ice machine since my hiking clothes were so muddy. Construction: 10/10 I saw the construction going on but I never heard it, maybe it was because of where my room was located? Local Area/Things to do/Places to Eat: 10/10 -Costco: Stock up on your booze, H2O and snacks -Longs Drugs/CVS: Same parking lot as the hotel, they have everything you need. Stocked up on more snacks, sim card for my GoPro, and laundry detergent since my hiking gear was muddy. -Helicopter Tour w/Jurassic Falls -Scuba Diving -Luau (shout out to Uncle Willy) -Rented a Jeep: Drove North, South, East, West -Restaurants within walking distance or quick bike ride: Monicos Taqueria (taquitos were fire), McDonalds (barf), Pono Market (bomb pork/poke great for lunch), Hukilau Lanai (great for dinner), coconut marketplace (shopping/farmers market).…
The hotel was completely renovated in the last few years including all rooms and public spaces. The renovation has just the right feel for high quality but casual and friendly Hawaiian and was well done. There are several places to eat on site and a large number within walking distance. It's centrally located on the island making it easy to get around to your favorite surf spots or hiking trails. But the best thing about this hotel is the incredible staff. Everyone from the bell desk to the front desk, from the dining staff to the housekeepers, from the managers to the maintenance staff to the guy blowing the leaves in the parking lot is friendly, helpful, warm, and welcoming. Hawaii is a special place and so is this property. If you want to experience the spirit of Aloha first-hand, and get to know some of the people that make Hawaii what it is, this is your destination.…
My experience at this Resort was phenomenal!!!The lead front desk Agent LISSA FU was OUTSTANDING!!!!! Our room was not ready; however she gave us a better room with a view so we would not have to wait. She was extremely courteous and went above and beyond to help us. Also, we booked an ATV excursion with Karen Barnes the concierge and she also went above and beyond to help us book this. In all our experience was fantastic and I would book again with this resort. The room was fantastic as well. Our best regards, Doug and Theresa Bonderson
I was so worried about staying here after reading several of the reviews that gave them a bad rap. I have nothing to say but the best. Never had an issue getting beach towels. Room was cleaned and restocked every day! When they found out it was our anniversary they fixed our bed special. For Mother’s Day the maid left a note saying that. Everywhere I was at was clean. The restaurant was good. Lissa at front desk was so awesome and nice to work with. All the staff were so friendly!!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. From the pool overlooking the ocean to having bikes, beach chairs, etc. to use during our stay, we could not have asked for a better resort to stay at during our vacation. The staff were also extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our favorite staff was Jackie! - she was so kind and gave us helpful insight into the island. We will definitely be back and plan on staying in this resort again!
Beautiful resort in a great location. This resort is not the typical Sheraton, … it is much more. Arrival experience was wonderful. The resort is well maintained, and the services and team is spot on. Everyone is helpful and attentive and the dining options are great. Try the Luau, over the top!
I had a reservation at this hotel that unfortunately I had to cancel on the day of check-in. Instead of questioning me or insisting that I pay a cancellation fee, Cedric & Lissa graciously worked with me to get things canceled so that I could make it home for a family emergency. While I didn't get to stay at the hotel, their kindness & helpfulness made me want to re-book the next time I get to Kauai & I wanted them both to be recognized for their service. Bonvoy!
Primary factor for booking here = their description of accessible room accommodations. I clearly requested handicapped and described why it was needed. We checked in on 4/28/22, went up to 446. Returned twice to explain our concerns to the front desk. They insisted this was their accessible room type. Could not get anywhere. The bathroom was a small one person one sink. No grab bars to help him get up the step into the shower. We could only get hubby’s wheels through the door by me standing INSIDE the bathroom holding the door open. Ditto exiting the room. We stayed the 4 nights because couldn’t find anything else. A miserable experience. I’d called ahead on 4/21 to confirm we had a room to match hubby’s needs. Beware of staying if you need accessible accommodations. (The maid service crew was great).…
To start, I'm Ambassador level with Marriott, 1878 nights in their hotels. I know exactly what the Marriott brand stands for and what level of service to expect from a Fairfield Inn to the Ritz Carlton. As an Ambassador I have come to expect that top tier level. Checking in there was no bellhop. I loaded my bags on a cart myself. No one greeted us. We checked in and the polite desk agent told us breakfast was free with status. Immediately another desk agent rudely corrected her in front of us "we don't do that anymore, I'm so glad I caught that". I've seen people walk around with blue bracelets opening their doors, we didn't even get offered that. It's a great property, however there are essentially ZERO benefits to Ambassador level here. No free breakfast, no free parking, no lounge, no enhanced wifi, no check in amenity, literally nothing. Even in a Fairfield Inn the manage or someone will call and just check in after arrival. Not even that happened. Now the property is great, not too big so it's not super crowded, the beach is close by and clean, fitness center is adequate, towel rental is super easy and lots of water filling stations . Multiple places to eat and the staff is generally great (minus check in lady at the front). If you're a status member of any kind, just don't expect anything different. There are several other properties on the island that do have those Amenities. Mahalo!…
