We arrived at about 5p.m. and checked in with no delay. Clean and well equipped suite. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment in the E building. The grounds are mature and the resort is located on the ocean. We had a partial ocean view. Nice pool area. We attended their activities introduction and we won the 2 for 1...

Pono Kai Resort is ideally located and is right on an excellent beach and a few minutes walk to town. The property has a large pool and hot tub and offers free use of bocci ball, croquet, putting green, and tennis. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and a concierge is located in the lobby to help with booking...

We really enjoyed this resort. It was a very quiet and relaxing place. There didn't seem to be many young, rowdy people; mostly older couples and families. We had a one bedroom unit and were very pleased with our accommodations. They did a major cleaning only once throughout the week but came to refresh the towels a few times. The...

The buildings need an update. Unit smelled like stale air conditioning. Location is fantastic for kids - waves are manageable at the beach right out front, the bike path and amazing sunrises. Easy Walking distance to kapa'a pool and hot tub were not amazing, but fine for small kids. With major update, it would be a fantastic place.

We loved the 3 bedroom condo that we stayed in during our visit. The staff was wonderful and helped book several activities for us during our stay. The condo was very clean and comfortable and roomy enough for us to relax after long days of sight seeing and walking on the beach. I loved that it was right on the...

I stayed in Unit B106 for the month of January 2017. This is a great unit, clean and modern with beautiful granite countertops and tile floors in the living area. This is an oceanfront unit and you can watch the beautiful Kauai sunrise from the lanai or even from the living room sofa! I rarely ate out and the kitchen...

It was a timeshare exchange and the resort's name we had on our documents was Pacific Fantasy. I don't know what is the difference between the Pono Kai and Pacific Fantasy. We had a second floor unit, 2 bedroom. The unit size is very good, rooms are large and thought it is dated but not well maintained. We had two...

This was our second time staying at Pono Kai. The resort is very nice and generally very quiet. The staff has always been accommodating. When I booked through the resort, I requested top floor, as I always do, to avoid having noise problems from guests above. I was told that they would considered the request, but could not guarantee. We...

ROOMS: One of the issues with this resort is that a variety of groups own units and are individually responsible for maintenance and updates of those units. Some units have been very nicely upgraded and others are very dated with deferred maintenance. The biggest complaint heard is the noise from other rooms. GROUNDS: The grounds are mutually held so they...

Four families stayed at Pono Kai close to 2 weeks. The ground floor rooms seemed great for kids to run outside & not worry too much on where they are going. There were enough activities to do on their property like using the pool, hot tub, putting greens, & outside BBQs. With being close to the bike path & beach,...
