Our trip to Kauai was great. Had ocean view room that was awesome. Room could have been cleaner. Floor had a awful film on it. But just wore slippers so we had clean feet when we got into bed. But overall, the Aston at the Beach was a great place to stay. Would stay there again!
Aston Islander on the Beach is the perfect spot for a Kauai vacation. It is located about halfway between the north side and the south side, so all of the sites on Kauai are a short drive away. We previously stayed in an ocean front unit, but this time, we stayed in an ocean view unit (#342), which had a gorgeous view of the pool and the ocean just behind it. There is a bike path being built that will go all the way up to Donkey Beach and right in front of Islander is the Coconut Marketplace with lots of restaurants, shops, and a small grocery store. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
No kitchen and small for the price. There are better values elsewhere, but location is convenient. Note that taxes are hefty, about $75 per night for us, coming as a surprise upon checkout- over $800.00. These monies certainly don’t seem to support Kapa’a infrastructure, with its narrow roads and crumbling facades. You can either love it or hate the town. We like it, just know it might not be your vision of Hawaiian paradise.
\We had the two-room suite with full kitchen, dining table, living area and bedroom. It was our home away from home. If we weren't already in paradise we could've stayed in our room and out on our lanai the entire time. The view of the pool and ocean was exactly what we hoped it would be. We would definitely come back!
This was a nice place to stay for a more affordable rate than other places! My husband and I spent most of our time outdoors, but Aston Islander was in a convenient location that allowed us to explore so much of the island, from Waimea Canyon all the way to Hanalei. If you’re planning to spend your time exploring, this is the perfect place to stay because of its location and cost! It doesn’t necessarily have amenities that big resorts do (like a fancy spa) but if you like a decent pool and a hot tub where you can meet a bunch of nice people, this is a great place to stay!
