I have stayed at many marriott chain residence to JW or ritz and this is the worst for the money. From check-in to food service and housekeeping this place is lacking, the training must be poor as the staff just did not seem to care. Dirty room on arrival including what was obviously bedding which had not been changed, car...

I traveled to this resort in February 2010. The Good: *Right on the beach *Man made lagoon to swim and play in (The beach has lava rocks) *Kayaks and other fun non-motorized things *Dolphin pool (You can pay to swim with them) *Good food *Good service *Tram to take you from one end of the hotel to the other *Beautiful...

The staff was so friendly and helpful it made our trip much nicer. Great location for shopping. We agree with other posters that hotel and rooms need an update. The bed is quite low to the floor and if you have a handicap or injury this should be a consideration. Over the headboard is a glass screen and prevents a...

Like the other reviewer we are in agreement that it needs an update. Our room was ok, bathroom had a leaky shower and sink faucet. The grout definitely needs to be redone again. We tried to move but we were told there was nothing better or if we wanted an upgrade it would cost $600 - service seemed a bit...

My wife and I enjoyed our time immensely. The staff is so nice from housekeeping to the guys in front. We booked some activities before thru an airline and I would strongly suggest to go through the hotel. They are amazing and made the trip better than we had even planned for. The resort wasn't terribly crowded so that may...

We were upgraded to a partial oven view and view of the pool. The carpet in the halls has stains and worn spots. The room was comfortable but could also use a furnishing update. The mini fridge would not cool the soda but ice was available. The tub area needs a thorough scrubbing. The grounds make for a lovely walk....

This is a classy, yet the most friendly resort I have ever been to. My wife and I spent New Years Eve and the next week at this Marriott, enjoying every minute. The staff couldn't be more cordial, helpful, and knowledgeable, from the "welcome back" and big smile from the valet to the wait staff. Dining was exceptional and the...

I surprised my wife for her birthday with a trip to the Big Island. We stayed 6 nights at the Waikaloa Beach Marriott. This was the second trip to the Big Island for both of us. She had previously stayed at the Waikaloa Beach Hilton and I had stayed at the King Kamehameha Courtyard in Kona when we came with...

I will preface this review by saying that due to a rental car mix-up, we were forced to find accommodation for a couple of nights that didn't require a car. The Marriott was one of the only remaining available options during the busy holiday season. You can get to and from the Marriott from the Kona airport via shuttle, and...

Spent 11 days with our two adult children (they had their own room) and had a great time. Got off to a rough start with an iffy room (tired/dirty room, noisy air conditioner. rusty bathtub, noisy neighbours and paperthin walls). Thanks to terrific General Manager (Annette) we were able to switch rooms the next day by upgrading to a cabana...
