These pretty, comfortable, little self-contained bungalows are tucked into a very verdant nook in the centre of Volcano village, a short walk from shops and eateries and very close to the volcano of Kilauea. There are no details on the cottages or the activities in the area that Garrett leaves unmentioned. A good base for enjoying the possibilities of Hawai’i...

Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to write such a kind review. If you are planning a trip here, Garret is always happy to share and help you plan your day. We are close to a few restaurants and small convenience stores, most you can walk to. As you mentioned we can get a bit of rain so it's...

We stayed at one of the cottages during a bicycle ride around the Big Island. The house was spacious, impeccably clean, and convenient to good food as well as the incredible Hawaii Volcanoes NP. The landscaping includes attractive gardens and woods that make you feel as though you're out in the country, though restaurants and businesses are only short walks...

We stayed in the 'Artists Cottage' which has two bedrooms. Very nicely laid out. Everything you need including great concierge service from Garret. Pluses include great location, great breakfast, free wifi and reasonable 'cleaning fee' (some are out of control). Negatives are very little lighting at night in garage area to access the steps (one flight up). Not enough banana...

Aloha and mahalo for taking time to write such a kind review. The Artist's House is a great place for two couples or for singles wishing their own bedroom. Glad you found it comfortable. We are just a three minute drive to the park entrance, you cannot get much closer. Makes it convenient for the evening viewing of the Halema'uma'u...

Our stay here was great! Location, place and host were awesome. Garret and Sandy made us really comfortable here and I will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Big Island and will be recommending to family and friends. If you are thinking of staying here, do no think, just book it. I wish we would have stayed...

Aloha and mahalo! Glad you Garret and I were able to contribute to your stay in a positive way. A recommendation is the highest form of compliment and we sincerely thank you. Mahalo Garret and Sandy. You made our stay truly the trip of a lifetime! 13 days in one spot, a spot we could have spent a lifetime. Your knowledge and service are truly an asset to the "Big Island." We left Atlantic Canada with no itinerary and decided to play it by ear. Garret's knowledge of the island made where...

We spent two nights here in the Ohelo Berry Cottage, the smallest of the four cottages. It's a studio with frig and microwave, and was plenty of space for two people who don't cook on vacation! The cottage itself was charming, clean, and functional, and the front porch relaxing. The gardens were fascinating, as was the wildlife - I wish...

Aloha and mahalo for your wonderful review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. The Ohelo Berry Cottage is a great place for two as you commented. There is a refrigerator but not a microwave. There is also a coffee pot but no other form of cooking. We are happy to provide coolers for misc beverages or snacks that may...

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. It is gorgeous, located in a beautiful piece of rainforest that is well cared for by the owners. The location is perfect for exploring Volcanoes National Park. It is 5 minutes from the park entrance and 10 minutes from the Jagger museum. This last part is great because the view...

We chose this location on Booking.com for its proximity to the Volcanoes National Park about (5) minutes away from the park entry. This is one very nice place located in a tropical forest atmosphere. Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you found the cottage clean and nice. The dehumidifier helps it stay that way because as you said we live in a tropical climate. We do ask that you run the dehudifier while you are gone so the noise does not bother you. In the summer...
