We stayed in the Alpine Room which was adequate for 2 of us. The owner wasn't around much, but made a nice breakfast and vanished right away. It's not like most US B&B's, but the price was right for HI. Close to the park and a couple of restaurants nearby. We got Thai food from the food truck on Wright...

We stayed at this bed and breakfast only one night because we were staying in Kona, but wanted to see Hilo for a couple of days. We took off early from Kona and went the south road, stopping at the Green and Black sands beach. This place is very near Volcano National Park, so we could check in and drop...

We stayed with Robert for one night and it was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were comfy and Robert cooked a great breakfast. Enjoying our coffee on the deck listening to the rain was an ideal start to our day. Thanks again Robert! See you next time.

Spent two nights here while visiting Volcano National Park-great location from the park-5 minute drive (if that!). Hotel was quiet and the room was nice; no it's not brand new but it was in good condition and clean. Fans available in the room if it's too hot, and an electric fireplace if it's cold. Robert was friendly and cooked breakfast...

Robert took great care of us. The room was spacious - 2 good beds and 2 bathrooms. His help on where to go and what to see was invaluable. The breakfast was great - pancakes, sausages and fresh mangoes. The location was a mile from the volcano.

The owner has the most fresh and delicious breakfast for you every morning. Great opportunity to mingle with the other guests. It's a very clean, very beautiful home. It's only about 5 minutes from Volcano National Park, which is open 24 hours, so each night we drove there to watch the fire filled sky.

We stayed in the heritage room which was very spacious. The breakfasts included fruit juice, fruit, sausage, pancakes or waffles. A good start to an active day of exploring the park. Robert was a very helpful and congenial host. We would stay there again.

We stayed in the Peacock Room for two nights. A large, clean and comfortable room with lots of privacy. As the temperature is degrees lower than most other places on The Big Island, we were very pleased to have a (electrical) fireplace in our room. Aloha Juction is in the center of Volcano with a shop and several good quality...

Stayed in the Heritage Room in a king bed that went on forever. Slept like a baby even though I shared the bed with my teen granddaughter. Our own bathroom and sink in our room completed the picture. The lovely living room charmed with its oversized lounge furniture and beautiful rocking chair. The dining tables stretched out next to it...

Nicely situated on a large property with garden and fruit trees. A large veranda for relaxing. Robert is a great host and prepares a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed visiting with other guests at breakfast. The only down side is that we could hear our neighbors conversation through the walls. Not a huge problem. They didn't keep us up late.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Aloha Junction B&B is located in Volcano Village just behind the Post Office noted for proximity to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park 1 mile away and restaurants in town. Guests also enjoy the 1930's old plantation structure providing five spaciousness rooms and electric blankets for those chilly nights in the rainforest. In addition free parking and well attended-to children are welcome. Each room has it's own coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave but best of all are Robert's breakfasts. One of his specialties are the Papaya-banana boats with macadamia-nut pancakes. After spending time in this "Drive-in" style National Park, most people want to include some evening time to walk out to the overlook of Halemaumau Crater ~ which convinces even the strongest skeptics that Kilauea is an active volcano. ... more   less
