I stayed 2 nights in a 6 bed female dorm in January '16. The hostel is old and basic and it's closed from late morning to 4:30 PM (when you should be out in the national park anyway), but it's clean, has good facilities and atmosphere. I also really liked the woman running the place. There's a huge kitchen with...

We arrived from an overnight flight only to find that our Park cabin rental had been cancelled due to fallen trees and this was on the start of the busiest weekend of the Fall. Since we were expecting a cabin, we were ready for sparse. Holo Holo Inn is a great house with dormitory style rooms and a great kitchen...

My two friends and I stayed at Holo Holo In for two nights in July 2015. It is a very nice hostel, very clean and quiet - and the host family is extremely kind and welcoming. A truly amazing place in the middle of the rainforest and very close to the Volcano Park! The beds were large and very comfortable,...

This was a great find! Satoshi's hostel is one of the cleanest and most comfortable places we've stayed at. We love that it was secluded. Satoshi was so accommodating. It was great to learn about his history and his passion for travel and the reasons he opened his doors many years ago. I would recommend his accommodations to everyone who...

This was one of the cleanest and best Inns we stayed in throughout our four island venture through Hawaii. I adored Yabuki Satohsi and his hospitality is legendary, We were greeted with slippers at the front door which is so typically Japanese. So lovely. He also has the sharpest cooking knives on the Island.

I stayed here for six nights during my vacation to Hawaii. It's very conveniently located near HVNP and is only a five minute drive from the park's entrance. I stayed in a private room upstairs directly above the men's bathroom. The room was very quiet, minimal noise from the coqui frogs, and no issues with loud or obnoxious fellow tenants....

Serenity now... This place is tucked away out the back of Volcano village... Feels like a snow cabin only there's no snow, just lava? Ha. Hostel set up is attached to a family home, owners super nice and polite, but leave you to your own devices. Spacious homely kitchen and living area, clean and neat, mattresses super comfy. Gets chilly...

I booked into this hostel for three nights, and it is conveniently located in Volcano Village and close to the Volcano National Park. The Holoholo In is a reasonably priced option compared to other places in the area, clean and surrounded by trees. BUT, I booked and was confirmed three nights in a female dorm. The first two nights were...

If you are into the volcano and getting out into nature during your trip to the big island stay here. 15 minutes from the Jaggar museum in Volcanoes NP. Tranquil environment in the rainforest makes it feel like you are living like a local in Hawaii. Not very busy so you may get a private room even if it is...

My partner and I chose to stay in Volcano due to its proximity to the active areas of the Kilauea volcano. We found Holo Holo Inn by chance in a local phone book, and after reading some online reviews decided to book for one night but ended up staying for two. I would have no hesitation in recommending Holo Holo...
