We had a lovely stay at Hale Ohia Cottages. We weren't actually in a cottage, but we had a large suite inside of the main building. Our room was spacious, with a large bed, dresser, and small kitchen area. The bathroom was located just outside of the bedroom, which was fine; it was private and large. Our room also came...

We stayed for a few nights in the Iiwi room. It is a small room with a queen bed, hutch with small fridge and coffee maker, two chairs plus the bathroom. For what we needed it was absolutely fine. It was nice and cool so no need for air con. We weren't cold so didn't need a heater. No tv...

We stayed in the Ohia cottage which sleeps 6. It has 2 rooms with a queen bed in each, and 1 room with a twin bed. There is a living room as well, kitchen, and 1 bathroom. It is a quaint cottage. No air conditioning but I knew that from the information online. We turned on the heater actually because...

We stayed two nights in the Master Suite of the main building of the Hale Ohia Cottages, an excellent location to access the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. The room was comfortable and we appreciated the privacy. Joe was most helpful getting us settled. While Hale Ohia doesn't provide a full breakfast, we did enjoy the fruit and fresh baked bread.

I am sitting in the room eating the nice fruit they left in the fridge for breakfast but I am cold and there is no heat available. There is a dehumidifier but the air that comes out is cold and smells like the room, moldy and mildewy. There is black mold around the windows and the bed sits against these...

We enjoyed the cozy accommodations at Hale Ohia! Michael was wonderful! He met us upon arrival, and gave us great info about our stay in Volcanos! We had yummy, fresh banana bread waiting for us (for breakfast) the 1st night, and a comfortable, clean room and bathroom! NOT having a TV was a bonus!! Plus we were 5 minutes from...

The Hotel Hale Ohia Cottages are located about five minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It tends to be cool because of the higher elevation and showers occur frequently. The cottage was comfortable with three bedrooms, a sitting area and a small kitchen, however, it smelled moldy. There is no air conditioner, but a dehumidifier ran frequently. Every afternoon, a...

We arrived here after a week in Kona. We were pleasantly surprised by the quiet, quaint accommodations that awaited us. The staff was very accommodating and gave us tips that were helpful in seeing the volcano and nearby town. They had bug spray and sunscreen on hand as well as complimentary flashlights. Bring rain gear. This is a rain forest,...
