My wife found this place on TripAdvisor and it just seemed right. The guest cottages are part of a several unit accommodation ranging from studio to a couple of bedrooms. All of them have a decent level of privacy, and you know that you're in a rain forest. The beds are comfortable, and have warmers, so when it's damp and...

Perfect. Spotless. Beautiful . Charming host. Romantic. Delish breakfast. And, though we are dog people, we even loved Maurice. The area is beautiful; the park a must visit. The room was charming in every way, the common areas as well. Thanks.

We stayed in the Cedar Cottage and felt as if we were home, only much better than home. The owner was gracious and took time to orient us to everything including restaurants that we would need. No details were omitted from this great concept. We especially enjoyed a lovely breakfast experience that the owner provided us and the other guests...

These cottages were great! Spacious, clean and offered privacy from your neighbors. The only thing I would say was a 'con' was that the public washrooms weren't kept in the greatest shape, but the showers offered hot water (which I feel is rare for public showers) and were very welcomed after a long, damp day outside. The actual location is...

I found this place by accident. I booked one of the owners other properties close by and when he mentioned that his other property was a treehouse I immediately asked if he had any openings which he did! Both locations are way above average for a b&b in my opinion but there is just something about a treehouse. Anyway Gary...

Though it wasn't a luxurious stay at the Volcano Tree House, it certainly was a memorable one -- and that's why I travel! The room itself was perched in a rain forest of what looked to be giant ferns. It was lushly green and lovely. The furnishings were comfortable though slightly shabby but that didn't daunt us. There is a...

You are literally in the trees. The view is great. Walking distance to the village of Volcano and a quick drive to the park. The room is rustic but lovely. And Maurice the cat is a wonderful friendly addition to the property. He came by each morning to greet us. Many cute touches like a flashlight in the room to...

This tranquil spot was the perfect getaway for my family!! It is located about 20 Minutes from Hilo and 3 streets away from Volcano National Park. The pictures do not capture the peace you feel when you step onto the property. Waking up to the birds lightly chirping in the trees was as beautiful as the bed I slept in. We...

My wife and I stayed here and the owner was very nice and accommodating. Pretty straight up, we enjoyed the gas fireplace and bed warmers ( though we didn't need it ). It had decent internet and served as a great base to explore the town and park of Volcano.

So happy we stayed in the Treetop Suite. It's an amazing experience that we highly recommend. We will definitely return. It's as great as everyone writes about. Living above so high up surrounded by rainforest is amazing. And those two darn cats are so wonderful. Very romantic. Just down the road from Volcano National Park. Only a 30 minute drive...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Look out your window and see giant tree ferns (hapu'u) greeting your arrival, just inches from your eyes. Volcano Tree House was built among the trees to preserve Hawaii's spectacular native rainforest. Reach out and touch ohia trees from your deck as you listen to native songbirds. This is the place to come to get away from it all and reconnect with nature and your inner spirit. Choose from two studios and one suite, all with private entrances. ... more   less

“Again, not complaining, but when I booked a room with the Bamboo Orchid Cottage, none of the photos even showed the Tree House Room. Below I've pasted in the room description that was attached to my room reservation notice. BTW, I did rent this property through that other organization beginning with an "E". I can only assume, that because we rented a room with a King bed, the Tree House is what was available. Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed Includes: Continental Breakfast Free Parking Reserved for Theresa Philbrick 2 adults Requests 1 king, non-smoking room”
