A tropical paradise with magnificent gardens that is family / child friendly and a good location for exploring Pahoa and around. Great breakfast and hospitality; Petra the owner was very friendly and helpful with tourist advice. We stayed there 3 nights at start of July in the Lanai suite

We drove across the island to see the lava flow into the ocean and a friend referred the Hale Moana for overnight accommodations. We loved the place. I felt like I was at my aunt's house and really enjoyed the enclosed room where we enjoyed breakfast. Petra was very gracious and passionate about the area. It would be nice to...

I spent 2 nights in this gorgeous B&B. My room was very clean. Petra gave me a lot of useful tips to plan my journey! I had a fantastic time at the volcano national park which is only 30min drive from there. The breakfast included fresh fruits. Her banana pancakes are very yummy!!!

This B & B is located in Pahao, a small town South of Hilo. Beautiful acreage located within a housing area. Our two bedroom suite included a small kitchen and living-room area. Perfect for our family of 5 to enjoy. The property has lots of acreage to take walks around and grass area for the children to play. Located by...

We just spent four nights at Hale Moana Bed & Breakfast in late May, 2016. We had a completely lovely time. There were four people in our group: myself, my husband, and my two young children (a nearly 2 year old and a nearly 5 year old). We stayed in the Lanai Suite, and it perfectly suited our needs. The...

This is a long overdue review. We stayed here last June and had a great visit. The property is beautiful and very well kept. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which had a lot of space and a full kitchen. The breakfasts were delicious. Pahoa was a nice area to explore for a few days. Our favorite place to visit...

We absolutely recommend staying at Hale Moana, we were in a large apartment upstairs that has a master bedroom, one smaller bedroom, kitchen and family room/dinning area. When you first get in to the place you get the sense of being at home, is so clean and welcoming. For breakfast I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised to...

We stayed with Petra for two nights in the Makamae Studio. It was very Hawaiian style and clean. Our room faced the beautiful grounds. The breakfast at the Hale was amazing. French toast and German pancakes were delicious with an assortment of fruit and vegetables, teas and coffee. The neighborhood, Leilani Estates, was very quiet. If you've never been to...

We stayed in the small studio next to the lanai, and while we could hear the frogs at night, we didn't notice any lack of privacy while we were there. Of course, it's Hawaii--we weren't there to spend the day inside! Petra puts out a great breakfast with pancakes or eggs, and lots of fresh fruit. She provided a guidebook...
