My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Ohia House! We cannot thank Cindy and Rick enough for their hospitality, advice, and wonderful breakfasts. The house is in such a peaceful and beautiful setting! It is also close to several beaches, the volcano, and other sights. We appreciated all the small touches provided at Ohia House, such as the... This was our 4th time visiting this fabulous B&B. Hosts are wonderful, the accommodations have EVERYTHING you could need--even a cooler and beach chairs! The small town is lovely. There are interesting views of lava flows. At night, you are surrounded by rain forest and all the night sounds. True tropical paradise.

We've been in Maui/Hawaii for over two weeks now, staying at a variety of B&B. This is easily the best one: Cindy is just the most perfect host, she's kind, caring, attentive, yet discreet. The care and love with which she prepared the room for us, with such attention to details like toiletries, books, coffee and tea capsules for the... More

Ohia House was a unique Bed & Breakfast because we were the only guests, by design. This allowed for converstion with Rick and even longer conversation with Cindy when she served us her delicious breakfasts. The room is large and clean and the property is beautiful. A wonderful last two days on the Big Island to enjoy the Farmers Market... More

Cynthia was an awesome host and had everything we needed for our stay, beach towel, beach chairs, umbrellas, fridge, coffee pot, clean towels twice a day, organic lotions, shampoos, bug sprays. Breakfast was fantastic. Can't wait to stay again at Ohia house.

Cindy is a great host and cook. One of the best B&Bs on the Big Island; tripadvisor's top rating is more than justified. The house and property is immaculate. Cindy's breakfasts are top notch. Ask for the egg baskets if you like bacon and eggs. They're the best!

Only stayed a couple of nights but the short time we spent with Cindy & Rick was very pleasant: quiet (notwithstanding the frog serenade), delicious and ample breakfasts and conveniently located to beach, town of Pahoa and Volcano Park. Cindy & Rick were great hosts and provided helpful hints for local dining, snorkeling and shopping. The room was very spacious... More

“If you require anything special it’s always best to work your host to make arrangements ahead of time. The Ohia House B & B hosts will do everything possible to accommodate any request you might happen to require. But you need to let them know what you need. Tips and Tricks: Volcano Nation Park: The park elevation is 4000 feet. It can be raining up there, so it’s smart to take a coat, wind breaker, poncho or umbrella just in case. Have a good pair of hiking boots or tennis shoes, they will work better than flip flops on the rugged terrain. If you have the trekking polls or walking polls, they are light, fly well compacted and are great to have on the trails, lava tubs and lava flows either individually or in pairs. I was surprised that the Volcano National Park gift shop did not offer these in the gift shop. They stock the $5.75 rain ponchos; they came in handy after we forgot our coats. Tips and Tricks: Rainbow falls: It can be raining there so take a light coat, wind breaker, poncho or umbrella. Tips and Tricks: Saddle Road: The Saddle road is nearly completed, it is amazing if you remember the old one. There are still a few miles that are not completed going into Hilo, so be ready. Tips and Tricks: Pahoa: The “Round About” is nearly completed, this will statistically reduce all the accidents that occur in that intersection. ”
