I just cannot believe the other recent negative reviews of this Pineapple Park location in Kona. Is there an organized vendetta against her for some reason!? Competitors maybe? Just asking, because our experience was just the opposite. I've been in hostels all over the world and I found this place to be extremely well kept, well painted (even the undersides...

Just like everyone else has said, this place is downright horrible. There is a SERIOUS "stress vibe", you always feel like you are walking on egg shells. There are weird little signs up everywhere saying things like -"if you slam this door, we will charge you $50" and if you're not an international traveller you can expect to be turned...

This place is filthy and I've stayed at many hostels. Owner is in it for the money only. I was offered new location - new dorm, yay! Too bad both toilets didn't work nor did the shower and little ventilation meant trying to sleep in 80F heat. Discount? Nope. $50 USD so not worth it. No eating area at new...

No No No No! Say no! The owner is probably the rudest person I have encountered on this island and maybe all of Hawaii. She reminds me of an asian prison guard and has no communication skills / customer service at all. Totally inappropriate and strange behavior. The place was NASTY. I couldn't take it. I left even though I...

As specified in many other reviews, there is a problem with the owner of the place. Generally speaking, living conditions are well. not more than that. Every little thing is charged for, the vibe isn't nice if that's in consideration. on my last week in hawaii, one of my travelling friends had to cancel her room -reservation for her last...

I wish I would have read the reviews before staying in this hostel. The place itself is decently clean and simple, but as mentioned in the other reviews, the owner is penny pinching, rude and unreasonable. She walks around slamming things and berating people for doing the most tiny things wrong. She charges extra for towels, and as soon as...

Nice hostel in Captain Cook. We have been to several places on the island, but this was the first real hostel we came across. Comfortable bunk beds, shared showers and toilet. Half of the hostel is open air. Beautiful view. We stayed in the female dorm. There are some rules, but those rules are in place in every accomodation we...

This hostel was clean and neat. The kitchen, which was shared with the other residents, had all you needed to cook a meal. Hostel attendants were friendly and helpful. I shared a room with other residents and that the room was not full occupancy.

Tony and Annie are great hosts! The guys who work here are great and I can't say enough about the welcoming atmosphere!! It's way nicer than the hostels inside kona and it's worth the short drive out of kona. If you don't have a car, the bus is a great option and hitchhiking is always easy!!
