We made a brief stopover here, arriving in the afternoon and leaving the next morning. The B&B was fine for this purpose: clean, comfortable (air conditioning was welcome), tasty breakfast, friendly hosts. What is not immediately apparent in this undistinguished subdivision is the extraordinary oceanfront access across the street. If you go left, there is an endless stretch of flat...

We just got back from 3 nights at the Ala Kai. Our experience from the start to finish was wonderful. The hosts are very caring ladies and gave us great recommendations for places for dinner. The breakfasts that they made us were the best...always fresh fruit, a protien dish, juice, a variety of teas, coffee, etc. It was also very...

My daughter and I had the 2 room Aloha Suite for a one week stay. Awesome location with a killer ocean view from the lanai. Gourmet breakfasts every day and great pool to swim in. We went to the market and got hamburger meat one day and fresh fish another day and grilled it on their grill. Met quite a...

Everyone should stay at this wonderful gem! Great hospitality, clean rooms, rooms that made you feel at home, fantastic breakfasts with a lovely view of the ocean. Mary, Pat and Shakespeare (the cat!) were so welcoming and kind. They gave great local attraction recommendations. We stayed 3 nights in the last leg of our trip and it was the best...

Ala Kai means 'by the sea' in Hawaiian, a very apt name for this wonderful B&B. Our family of 4 adults stayed in the 'cottage' over Christmas/New Year of 2014/2015. The cottage is perfect for families and met our needs in every way: clean, equipped with kitchen, washing/drying facilities, deck, garage, linen, beach towels...easy holiday living. Things we loved were:...

The Ala Kai is a gorgeous house located in a real Hawaiian neighborhood complete with a view of the ocean from the lanai. What I adored about the Ala Kai is that it is not an institutional mega-hotel complete with all the commercialism associated with that type of vacation. Which is fine if that is what you are looking for...

We stayed here for two nights and the stay was great. The room is very well done and very well maintained. They also have a decent collection of books and movies if you wish . The room is pretty well stocked up in terms of towels, water , coffee etc which was great. The breakfast is served within an extremely...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ala Kai BnB. Mary and Pat were fantastic and gracious hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and private. Located just off the coastline on Kaloli Point, the gentle sound of the surf was quite peaceful. Everyday we enjoyed a tastefully prepared breakfast and good conversation with our hosts. We particularly enjoyed the home...
