If you're looking for a hipster haven with lots of neon, 2-million thread count sheets and snotty attitudes, keep looking. But if you can handle a refreshingly well-kept and tidy room with all the basics and a welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the hotel, this is a great place! The kitchenette was well-equipped and the bathroom was well-maintained. The carpet... More

We received a warm Aloha welcome from Kelly at the reception desk upon arrival. She spent a great deal of time to help orient us to Hilo, explaining the restaurants and streets. Joe was also a friendly worker at this motel who made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast of fresh fruit from their garden, homemade banana bread... More

We stayed a night to catch a plane. It lacks aircon, the wifi is quite weak but the kitchen was well-equipped. There is essentially no breakfast provided (which was fine with us). I'd avoid it in summer months but it did the job for us in November.

Had a great time in Hilo. Dolphin Bay Hotel was close to Downtown so it was an easy walk. The banana bread every day was yummy and very nice that we had all the bananas and pawpaw that we want. Comfortable accommodation with a family atmosphere, we will definitely stay here again when we go to Hilo

Stayed here for two nights, wish I had more time. The room came with a kitchenette that was nice to cook after eating out for so many nights. Very spacious, clean bathroom and room. No AC but fans in every room. It's located North of Hilo, perfect spot to explore the Hilo area.

It's a fairly old structure, with dated furniture, bathrooms and everything else. The rooms have a kitchenette with plates etc, microwave, fridge/freezer and a cooker. No a/c but a couple of fans - it was ok at night. Basic breakfast of fruit and banana bread, tea/coffee which you eat in the room. Wifi too slow for us to use. Lovely... More

We stayed two nights on a road trip from Kona. This is a great place to stay for the volcanos national park. Hilo has lots of interesting things to see and some good dining options and is a short drive up to the park. Friendly hosts, a great breakfast of fruit grown in their own tropical garden, and the coffee... More

My husband and I stayed here for three night while we explored Hilo and Volcanic area. Aside from the clean room, beautiful hotel grounds and location we were even more impressed with the friendly helpfulness of the front office staff. We sat down with them and they drew out on the map where to find snorkeling beaches, coffee plantations restaurant... More

We read previous reviews and thought was the place for us. Located just minutes from downtown, in a residence area. This quaint hotel was clean, comfortable, and very affordable. We had hope for a room with a Lani or balcony, but no luck. Our room was #12 on the side of hotel, no views to see. There is no AC;... More

Close to downtown, walk across the bridge to groceries, restaurants, gift shops & galleries. The place is clean and convenient if a bit shabby. The kitchen allows you to save $ on meals. Private patio and sweet garden area next to a stream. The people who work there couldn't be any nicer. I would definitely stay again.
