The room we had was massive and very comfortable. There's an amazingly pretty communal area outside too. Thankfully the plumbing is rock solid, because with all the fresh fruit Steve serves for breakfast, it needs to be! Only thing worth considering is that it's a few miles out of town and a car is required to get into Hilo.

ent 2 weeks on the island of Hawaii and sampled several of the B&B's on the island. If you get a chance to drive around the island and stay at some of the B&B's on the island you are in for a treat. I really enjoyed Lilikoi even if I will never be able to pronounce the name. I don't...

Don't think where to go - just book Orchid Tree right away! We are travelling around the word and have already been to a lot of nice places but non of them was like this before. Orchid Tree is a home fare away from home - we are still here and don't ever want to leave. Steve & Sue are...

My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and spent the first three days here. It was one of our favorite places to stay. We stayed in the continental suite which was very roomy and well decorated. Breakfasts were amazing! Everyone morning we were excited to enjoy our fresh fruit platter (by far our favorite breakfast throughout our stay in...

Our family of 3 spent 3 nights here and easy could have stayed longer. Our huge room with two beds and refrigerator was great. But even better was the huge, lovely lanai with wicker chairs, dining table and a hot tub. Next to it was a swimming pool. Our son rented a surfboard in town at a bargain multi-day rate...

This was the first time we tried a B&B and my family (me, husband, 2-18 year olds & a 16 year old) loved it!! We were in both rooms and there was plenty of room. I can not express how much this place meant to us. My husband finally relaxed on a vacation. We slept with the door & windows...

Steve was an excellent host at the Orchid Tree B&B. He made a great breakfast (Hawaiian fruit right from the garden and waffles and super coffee) and made us feel at home. We used the hot tub on the lanai in the evening and just sat listening to all of the native creatures in the trees. The pool looked very...

We booked the Orchid Tree B & B sight unseen from the mainland. When we arrived we were told that the owner was away and we were a little nervous but Maxine quickly put us at ease and provided outstanding service until the owner Steve and Sue arrived. The view was beautiful, the room was very nice and the pool...
