At $80 a night on the Big Island in Hilo, I thought this place was a pretty decent deal. We stayed in the Bamboo room which is the cheapest of the rooms, and though I didn't see the other rooms - the reviews for the other rooms make it sound like you're better off upgrading to a better room. Overall,...

We spent a night at the Old Hawaiian B&B. The breakfast was excellent with a wonderful selection of fruits! The room was comfortable and clean. It is very close (walking distance) to the Boiling Pots waterfall. The lanai area is very nice overlooking the hosts' wonderful garden with lots of fruits. The price is very reasonable.

First a disclaimer: Lory and Stewart are family so, when I say my wife and I loved the place, take it for what you want. Location: This 70+ year old house was renovated about 6 or 7 years ago. The house was built mostly of Douglas Fir brought in from the West Coast and is extremely well done. The renovations...

We stayed at the Sunrise room for 2 nights ~ sweet smelling sheets and towels, the bathroom and the bed were very clean and thoughtfully decorated. The breakfast Lory served was incredible! I loved the fruit shake and must confess that the chocolate scones Lory baked were the best I've had in my life! Everything in this place was sweet!...

This small B&B is a great value. The rooms are not big, but supersqueaky clean and comfortable, just immaculeous. The towels were the best smelling I have ever come across. Rooms open onto a Lanai, where breakfast is served, with big yard right behind it. The hostess makes and bakes everything herself, and it was THE BEST breakfast I have...

We stayed in the most affordable room, the Bamboo I think which was $80 a night. The room wasn't large and the bathroom was kind of small, but it was spotlessly clean. It opened onto a Lanai which was beautiful and overlooked the huge lawn leading to the edge of the property. The breakfast was huge and fabulous, if a...

Pros and cons, but mostly good. Room was nice but very small, same goes for bathroom. Hosts were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast on the lanai was stellar and grounds are pretty. Smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night repeatedly. No smoke, no fire, perhaps a gecko?

The Old Hawaiian B&B in Hilo is a wonderful, peaceful, restful place to stay a short drive uphill (inland) on the northern end of Hilo. The area is quiet and pretty, the beds (except for a trundle our son was on) are comfortable, and the breakfast is wonderful (egg, fresh made sweet breads, fruit, fruit smoothie, juice, and coffee). For...

A most amazing place. We have never been anywhere more beautiful! It is very quiet and peaceful. You would think you were in heaven surrounded by all of the lushous tropical plants and awaking in the morning to the sweet singing birds. We had the chance to experience all three of the rooms and enjoyed each equally. Fabulous place..we would...
