My girlfriend and I stayed at this B + B for two nights. We were visiting friend in O'ahu and took a short midweek trip to the Big Island. I would definitely recommend making your way over to the Big Island and if you are going to stay in Hilo, this is definitely a great place to stay. The location...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in January, and we would definitely recommend it. We stayed in the Bamboo Room. It is the most private room (being at the end of the lanai, farthest from foot traffic). This B&B is quiet, breezy, has a very comfortable bed, beautiful gardens, waterfront view, and we enjoyed the constant lull...

Hale Kai is a classic B&B where every room features an ocean view to die for (yes, you will hear the waves crashing all night). The rooms and service are flawless, but what really sets Hale Kai apart is breakfast. A gourmet meal (e.g., feta frittata, macadamia nut pancakes, baked French toast) is served upstairs on the “lanai” overlooking Hilo...

Hale Kai is as good a B&B as we have stayed in anywhere. The location, about 5 minute drive from downtown Hilo, is convenient and the ocean view is wonderful. The owners are very helpful and accommodating---my wife was sick and they let us check in early, no problem. Their breakfasts were excellent and offer you the chance to meet...

I've been to Hilo several times and the hotels are the pits. After nine days at what's supposed to be the nicest hotel in town, I switched to the Hale Kai! What a great place. I found the hosts to be most helpful. Rick even helped drag my luggage to my room. I'll be back when I come for business....

Found the Hale Kai through a Google search for B&Bs on the Big Island. The view really is as gorgeous as on their web site. Every room has an ocean view; the breakfast table and the pool also share that view. You can watch boats, storms, surfers (one of the prime surfing spots on the Big Island is just below),...

We just returned from staying three nights in the Moana room and loved it. The view was fabulous, the sound of the ocean below was amazing to fall asleep to, the smell of all the flowers was wonderful, the breakfasts were delicious, the room was nice & clean, the location was great, Maria and Rick were gracious hosts, and did...

My husband and I stayed in the Heritage Room for 4 nights on our first trip to Hawaii. The Hale Kai B&B is fabulous. Our room was clean and more than enough space for the two of us. The view is unbelievable and the breakfasts are something to look forward to. We loved our time in Hilo and saw so...

I can't say enough about this B & B. Awesome view! Great breakfast. Beautiful property. Wonderful hosts. The location was great for exploring the Hilo side of the Big Island. One day we explored the waterfalls and drove up the coast. The next day we wandered around the Puna district. Great snorkeling at the tide pools. The third day, off...

We were planning on moving to Hawaii and stayed at the Hale Kai for a couple of nights while we looked for a home. Loved it! This is all about place and the Hale Kai Hawaii is in just the right place. The ocean views are stunning and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore below lulls you...
