This is our second time at this hotel and we still love it. The lobby is open and spacious and feels so Hawaiin. The staff is courteous and helpful. This time, we actually got a free room upgrade. Our room was clean and well taken care of. We used the pool but the rules have changed from last time. We...

We had two nights here in February (we were lucky enough to get to clear sunny days) and my opinion is really mixed. The hotel has a great location, but has definately seen better days. The room was quite large, bed comfortable, however the room just didn't feel overly clean. The lobby is actually well designed, but the place has...

We stayed here for 1 night after wrapping up our time in Volcano National Park (rented a house in Volcano Village to be close to the park). It was clean and the room was very big. It was an older room like others have mentioned so don't expect a fancy stay but it was clean and we didn't spend alot...

This hotel has made some improvements but not enough. It needs a real gutting and redoing. It's too bad the people of Hilo don't realize how many more people would visit Hilo if there was a beautiful hotel to stay in there. There is a lot to see and do in and round Hilo. And great restaurants.

My wife and I stayed here for our one night in Hilo based on TA reviews. It is a somewhat older, clean, well maintained hotel on the water a few miles from the airport. It had a good restaurant. The rooms were average, but clean with few amenities. The challenge in Hilo is that there aren't that many hotels at...

I generally try to follow the advice of people on tripadvisor when I book my hotels. Unfortunately because we made our travel decisions pretty last minute. when I tried making reservations for the recommended places to stay they were already either full or not in the location I preferred. In any case I booked the Hilo Hawaiian hotel. Before arriving,...

Good location but it's a 2 stars hotel. Don't expect much. We only stayed 1 night in Hilo and that was enough. A nice place to stay in Kino is the Hilton.

I stayed here on the recommendations of some work colleagues who live in Hilo. They said it is one of the best hotels in Hilo. The view of the park and water is spectacular as was the full, double rainbow I saw in the morning from my lanai. Like many Hawaiian hotels, this one's rooms smell musty. The decor is...

We had a room with a terrific view of the bay, our room was clean, comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. This is a good 3 or 4 star hotel. Free parking. Hotel restaurant is primarily buffet, which is fine. Ken's Pancake House, close by is a great choice for breakfast and Pesto's on the main street across the...

1st - the hotel. Trapped in 1962 - I was waiting for Frank Sinatra or Elvis to walk through the lobbby. Free parking. Dated rooms but very large, if you removed the bed you could play tennis in the room. Bathroom from 1979. Small flat screen TV in the room (welcome to the 21st century). Average breakfast buffet. Ton's of...
