On the plus side, the location of the Wild Ginger Inn is great, right in Hilo. We were warmly greeted, and they gave us an upgrade on the room, which had two beds, a fridge, a TV, an enclosed porch, and a great view. They provided ear plugs against the noise of highway traffic, rain, and coqui frogs singing all...

My partner and I stayed 3 nights at Wild Ginger Inn during our time in Hilo. We had a Superior Room with a king size bed in the hotel portion of the facilities. The staff was very welcoming when we checked in and made sure everything was okay with our accommodations all throughout our stay. The grounds are lush and...

When traveling to Hilo, Big Island. Don't stay here ever. This is not the place to stay if you want to enjoy your vacation, and not be treated like a child. Not very helpful, Not travel friendly for the BIG Island. Threatening owner (does not know how to run a business and how to speak to guests, he likes to...

So... Where to being? Ok the "good" stuff. The free breakfast that was included was pretty good fruit, different types of breads, some oatmeal too I think and coffee although no milk or cream just powdered stuff. The hotel staff, although just hired help for lazy management/owners where quite nice... and that concludes the good things so onto the bad...

We stayed there one night and it was one night to much at this place! Staff is unfriendly and not really helpful. Please don't bock a...

Very friendly and accommodating ownership. Really nice breakfast array of fresh fruits grown locally, breads, delicious warm rice blend (kind of a porridge) made with coconut milk and plenty of coffee. Room was adequate with a clean and comfortable bed. No air conditioning, which was not a problem with the island breezes. Quiet time after 10 pm was much appreciated....

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed it. It's no the most updated and fancy place you can find but it's great on a budget and the people are very friendly. We really enjoyed everyone we talked to at this hotel and hostel. The property does have a mixture of hotel rooms and hostel rooms. We...

My partner and I have really enjoyed our five night stay here at the budget accommodation, Wild Ginger Inn Hotel / Hostel. We are very low-key travellers, and prioritise a relaxed vibe over all the mod cons. We stayed in one of the double hotel rooms (jungle garden view), but there is also a shared hostel room for an even...

My husband have stayed at almost every hostel on the big island. We traveled from Hilo to Kona to Hawi to Pahoa and then back to Hilo. And I wish I had known about this place sooner!! The staff is amazing and so is the breakfast!

Excellent hospitality...uber aloha!!! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They can direct you to all the hidden gems in town and all over the island that are not only "must-sees", but also low-cost or inexpensive. The room was perfect for budget travelers that want to spend their money on other things besides a super fancy hotel. My room was...
