I spent 7 days at Akiko's Hale Aloha house, and from the moment we arrived it felt like a very special place. As we began to explore both our inner as well as our outer world, it became clear that Akiko's place had a very special energy. I would definitely like to visit again. We went during the heavy rainy...

My experience at Akiko’s bucolic Buddhist B&B included a lovely and meaningful five day stay in the Artist Retreat studio. The room itself was spacious and included a functional kitchenette and cozy work/study areas. During my stay, I participated in early morning meditation sessions in the Zendo and took meandering walks to a stunning beach just down the road. Over...

I feel more than confident in saying there is no other place like Akiko's--certainly not in Hawaii... but it is not for everyone. She has a beautiful little house to rent in the idyllic (not nearly descriptive enough a term) community where she has created a "sanctuary" that can be a wonderful place to for a few days (I spent...

Akiko's place is truly a very special sacred sanctuary. I spent two Soul enriching weeks in Akiko's beautiful Aloha House, a house infused with Love and benevolent spirits. I felt so nurtured and enriched by staying at Akiko's. The spacious 3 bedroom Aloha house had large picture windows that looked out onto the beautiful gardens, yet it was private and...

Around Akiko's breakfast table, you make friends instantly of people you can value—smart, accomplished, mellow. The accommodations are clean and roomy, in a setting of tropical splendor. If you're staying in the outside cabins (the...

I absolutely fell in love with Akikos sacrad retreat. To get there you travel through a sceanic route with views and access too the ocean and waterfalls - up too the very top of a hill- tucked away into this unassuming place. My goal here was to practice my meditation and to submerse myself into self progression. The beautiful lush...

Serenity is the watch word at Akiko's. Experience old Hawaii with like minded guests. Simple, very clean lodging with plentiful breakfast locally grown and produced. Meditation sessions are highlight with this generous-spirit woman. Also opportunities for some true community service.

The beauty of the surrounding tropical rainforest encaptured me. It was lush, fertile, and fruitful. The beauty of the spirit at Akiko's was embracing and reaffirming. I was there for 10 days. Most mornings before breakfast, I walked about 15 minutes through the tropical forest to Kolekole Beach Park to see and hear the ocean. Breakfast included many breads, granola,...
