My favorite email is the questionnaire I receive from The Hideout staff a few weeks before I arrive. It means my trip to Shell, WY and the ranch is close! It's also an early indication of the level of guest service they offer. How tall...More
This all inclusive dude ranch had no disappointments. It is upscale but fairly wallet friendly. It is not child oriented. The facilities and amenities are lovely. The food is delicious and the cabins are cozy. They are en suite and also have a stocked mini-fridge,...More
Not sure I can add much to the superlatives in other reviews, as they all ring true. This was so much more than a vacation, even as the pristine setting, clean and well-appointed cabins, excellent food, and spectacular riding program might make it seem like...More
Excellent in every way. The ranch, set in a stunning landscape, is extremely comfortable and every detail of the guests' experience has been really carefully thought through.
It's worth understanding that this is a working ranch (albeit a supremely comfortable & luxurious one), not a...More

Hello and thank you for your interest in our ranch. We do have several testimonials on there of families and multi-generational travelers. However we have a minimum age of 7 years old and reqiure the parents to ride and enjoy activities together with the children because this is a great bonding experience. That is why we do not have a kids program. it is also why the families that vacation here choose The Hideout.
But that is just how we operate our experience because it is the way we ourselves and all our staff who have families travel.
Let us know if you have more questions. Again thank you for your interest in The Hideout and allowing us to explain how we operate.

Thank you for your question about our accommodations. We have five duplex cabins each with two completely separate rooms. One room has a king bed and sitting area and the other room has two double beds. The only thing the rooms share is a porch. Of course each of the rooms has a full bath and are quite spacious and decorated in an upscale Western manner.
We also have our Casita which is a building with four separate newly remodeled rooms. The two rooms upstairs have a king bedroom, small living room and kitchen. The two rooms downstairs have a king room with sitting area and a separate queen bedrooms. Each of the Casita units have their own bathroom and washer/dryer unit.
If you Google The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch and go to our website, we have a very extensive description of what is included in each of the rooms along with pictures and videos of all our units. While there, you can also make a request for reservation or contact us with questions. I look forward to hearing from you - Rebecca Bercher, Hideout Office Manager
