I had a very long day of work on a project in the area and by the time we finished after 19 hrs I didn't have the energy to drive back, it was a 240 mile trip back to the house over a mountain pass on snowy and icy roads. I saw this place across the street from where I was fueling up my truck, I went there and got a room, the place is older but it was clean, the bathroom was very clean, the bed was great, not hard like some beds and it was the best sleep I have had in a long time. They do have cereal and toast for breakfast, so it's more for people passing through or working that are not looking for a Ritz. It worked great for me.

Overnighted in Western Motel on a bicycle tour of northern Wyoming. Very courteous owners. Coffee available for in-room brewing. Only issue was that the internet was not available in room 102. It was outside nearer the back but it was a very hot day and I didn't want to go outside.

On our annual cross country motorcycle trip we stayed a night at this hotel. Lovell is a small town with limited choices. The price was reasonable, but you need to think of this stay as a bed and a shower. Travel safe....

The Western Motel exceeded my expectations by a wide margin!! First of all, the rate for the rooms should suggest to the traveler that this is not a 4 Star, 3 Star or 2 Star property. That being said, I'm mentioning the following pluses: the Manager welcomed us with a smile and was very pleasant. Check-in for 3 rooms was smooth and quick. We were shown to our rooms by the Manager, who turned on lights, the air conditioners, checked out the rooms, offered ice for our ice chests. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms clean, sheets & pillow cases were fresh. "Soft Objections" were that the bath towels were worn thin (but clean!). The room freshener scent was a little over powering; we had a bottle of Febreeze that neutralized the air. I didn't have Kleenex in my room. "Hard Objections" were 1) the room facing the lighted parking lot had inadequate window coverings to block the lights and 2) the air conditioners were noisy in all 3 rooms. (I was so tired that it didn't keep me from sleeping; another person removed their hearing aids and slept well; 2 other people wished they brought their ear plugs & eye masks because they both are light sleepers.) 3) No coffee pots in the rooms and I did not find a hair dryer (didn't need one--I was just looking) and 4) like all motels with parking in front of the room doors, don't expect to be able to sleep in late when other the guests are making early departures. I hope readers of this review understand that I want to give the Western Motel a fair assessment of my experience, which was satisfactory based on cost compared to comfort. If in the area, I would stay again.

On a cross-country road trip, we decided to push past Yellowstone and found this place, which said it would accept dogs, on the internet at about the distance we thought we could make, so booked it sight unseen (the name of the restaurant at the property, the "Cauc-Asian Diner" was intriguing, and probably should have been a clue, but we were trusting and feeling adventurous). Well, if you're ever in the same position, just keep on driving. Stay in Cody. If you're out near Lovell headed southeast, as we were, it's not that much further to Greybull, which actually has a couple of restaurants and at least one hotel that appeared, when we drove through the next morning, to be perfectly passable. The same cannot be said of Lovell and certainly not of the Western Motel. The restaurant appeared to be abandoned. The small room, which was not clean (and probably could not have been cleaned short of demolition and remodeling) was furnished in 1950s cheap, opened out onto the gravel parking area, and was decorated with aged artificial flowers. We have nothing positive to say. Just don't.

We didn't really mean to stop in Lovell and had planned to stay in Cody but accidentally clicked this motel without spotting that it was Lovell, quite a way from Cody. However, it was actually quite nice. We had quite an old fashioned room with a rocking chair and old style furnishings but it was clean, we didn't have coffee making facilities or a fridge but there was coffee in the reception area in the morning. There was a very good biker bar and cafe opposite. Good value for money.

It was small and quiet which was pretty good. Otherwise the room was kind of grungy, outdated, like a bedroom, really only ment to sleep and go. Bathroom was really small like a closet. The lady in the office also called after we left accusing us of taking a blanket that was never there. Thankfully she believed us that there was never anything in the closet.
