My son and I had a great visit. Jim and Emily were terrific hosts -- very helpful and accommodating. We were in the Bear Cabin which was very nice and clean -- quick walk to the lodge. Food was very good. Highly recommend if you want a laid-back spot.

I stayed in the Forest Cabin with my wife and 12 year old son for one night to acclimatize to the altitude in comfort before tent camping for two nights at Tie Flume campground. The main lodge is very attractive, with a comfortable lounge/dining room with large picture windows looking out across a stream and meadow to Bald Mountain. Stunningly beautiful. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and very helpful. The facilities were all very clean and well maintained. Our son enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. We saw moose up-close at the stream within minutes of arriving and multiple times subsequently, including a bull moose and mother with calf. We had dinner and breakfast in the lodge and the meals were excellent. We appreciated that the staff accommodated my need to…

Stayed at Wyoming High Country Lodge on the way to Cody/Yellowstone and then again on the way back. Jim and Emily made my wife, daughter, and me feel at home. Pluses: the comfortable room, the hot tub, the wonderful food, Moose out the front door, the views, the honor system for drinks, the free lemonade. Minuses: none.

High Country Lodge has an amazing staff, there are only a small handful so you will get to know them during the duration of your trip. The food was delicious and all home made, the bedrooms were kept neat and homey. There was wifi which was nice to use while in the middle of the forest, and they offer UTV and ATV rentals and guided tours throughout Bighorn National Forest. They also had free coffee every morning and beer for sale. I had a very nice time while I was here and would definitely stay here the next time I come through Bighorn National Forest.

My wife and I stayed in March this year for 6 days on a snowmobile trip. Above average temperatures made food and service the highlight of this trip. It was Jim and Emily's first week and previous managers (Cheryl and Howard) were passing along information and pearls. We had a great experience in March this year. The food was excellent, service was personalized, and the beds were clean! It is always fun meeting other guests in the common area of the lodge. It was our third year staying at the WYHCL and we will be back again next winter. We also visited at the end of May and were the only guests around that day. The hospitality and service with a smile was still genuine and appreciated despite it being a quiet time at the lodge.

Our family of four just returned from a nearly two week trip to the national parks and this place was hands-down the best. I wish we had spent more time here. The Highlights: 1) The Staff. The managers (Jim and Emily) were fantastic as were Rachel and Matt. 2) The Wildlife. Literally right outside the door. We saw tons of moose, white tailed deer and elk (in the distance). 3) The Food. Home-cooked meals. Nothing fancy but always fantastic. I left with two recipes in hand. Matt makes an amazing hamburger! 4) The ATV tour. A MUST DO! So much fun. We explored ice caves, we stopped to take pictures of lovely fields of flowers and of course, to walk around the medicine wheel. 5) The Cabins. We stayed in the Timberline Cabin. Plenty of room. Clean & comfy (especially the…

Family and I stayed for three nights and were served delicious food and were delighted to see Moose every day right outside the Lodge. The staff were always so friendly and helpful and even packed a bag lunch for all six of us one day. It was conveniently located near the start of the 52 mile Big Horn Trail race in which my nephew ran. I recommend the Lodge and would happily stay here again.

I have stayed at various places in the Big Horn Mountains and this by far is the best!! First, the cabins are clean and well appointed. We stayed in the Timberline cabin and were spoiled with the space and back deck. The linens, pillows, and mattress were great! It's so nice to have these luxuries on vacation. Second, the amazing managers Jim and Emily and the rest of the crew were exceptional. They were very warm and inviting and met all of our needs. Emily made amazing dinners and desserts and Rachel served up a mean burger and fries for lunch. Jim offered to start us a fire while playing board games in the lodge and even though it is summer, we took him up on it! The property is home to many moose that offer plenty of entertainment. Plenty of hiking and fishing nearby. …

My wife and I spent Memorial Day weekend here, and were very impressed! The staff is very friendly, hard-working, and helpful. The location is absolutely stunning! The food is great, and we loved the cabin we stayed in. The lodge is just a short drive (and a beautiful drive at that) away from LOTS of fantastic outdoor activities, as well as a few quaint towns if you need to do some shopping. We highly recommend this place, and will most certainly return.

We just came back from a wonderful trip to Wyoming High Country Lodge. We were on a 2 1/2 week road trip and this lodge was definitely the highlight of our vacation. The cabin we stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food was fabulous. Emily's homemade cheese cake and wild rice soup were to die for! The whole crew (Emily, Jim, Matt & Rachael) were so gracious and extremely helpful answering all of our questions. In addition to the great lodge, the activities in the area are perfect for any outdoor enthusiasts like us. We spent a couple days in the Big Horn Canyon looking for the Wild Mustangs and anything else we could find. We also went to Shell Canyon for some hiking and other adventures. Although a bit more of a drive, you can esily do a day trip…
