One of the best vacation experiences ever. Breathtaking beauty, raw and wild nature with all the luxury and amenities needed at 7500 feet in the Wyoming wilderness. What makes Flat Creek Ranch special is the staff. The Wranglers (George and Jamie) took us on the best trail ride anywhere. Deep forest, mountain meadows, creeks, and even a hunting camp and awesome pack lunch deep in the wilderness. Around each bend are views that never end. The Sleeping Indian mountain looks down upon you most of the rides. The small group and privacy sets Flat Creek apart from any other dude ranch. Fly fishing opportunities are endless and the crystal clear waters of the lake and streams abound in cutthroat trout. Special thanks to Scott and Connor taking us to the best spots along the creek and helping my 3 boys (grown men) catch plenty of fish. The equipment is top notch and keeps you warm and dry in the chilly waters of Flat Creek. No need to worry about any flies, nets, waders, poles, and accessories - they have it all. The lodge has spectacular views of the lake and I enjoyed walking to the lodge early in the morning with my headlamp to get a cup of coffee from Jim. After coffee, I made a daily fire in the sauna perched right over Flat Creek. Best sauna ever! You can even cool down with a creek shower system just out the door. The breakfasts are hearty and amazing. Great lunches, or packed up for horse riding or fishing, and cocktail hour and appetizers on the porch is a great way to meet other guests before a gourmet dinner. The desserts were my favorite before a whiskey and cigar on the porch of Cissy cabin. The Cissy cabin was spacious and very comfortable. I loved the bed and watching the full moon out the window. Very comfy beds and flannel sheets. We were never cold. How they get instant hot water I have no idea but it made for a great bath with a glass of wine! Don’t miss the wood fired hot tub either. If you like a hot soak, this is it. They even bring in creek water to get your perfect temperature - thank you Weston. Everything made for a perfect trip. Getting back into Jackson was a culture shock for all of us. I’m sure Trey and Shelby will keep it just “as is”. Thanks to everyone - Trey, Shelby, Dani, Weston (great guitar at the campfire), George (a real cowboy), Jamie, Ang, Mary, Chris, Jim (great cook!) and Connor and Scott for the fishing tips and tricks. Hope I’m not missing anyone. Can’t wait to return!…

Flat Creek Ranch truly is a special place - I'm not even sure where to start - all the managers: Trey/Shelby and Scott/Dani are just amazing....Then the food is all wonderful (Alyssa is an incredible chef) to the events - horseback riding is off the charts incredible!!(thanks Ang & George - you're the best!!!) - fly fishing clinic was amazing and my husband was excited to catch his first cutthroat! Want to hike up a mountain (like a REAL mountain)? They have a wonderful hiking guide, Thea! This is not a trip for everyone, as you are quite remote - that's the whole point of this place - cell service doesn't work in most of the ranch (thank goodness!!!) Eating together with other guests was fun and we made some new friends - hearing Westin play guitar was a treat on a couple of evenings. Cabins are rustic yet well appointed with really comfy sheets/beds/nice bath stuff....Made some new friends and already missing the quiet of the ranch....Looking forward to returning again one day soon!!! Special thanks to Trey & Shelby and the owners of the ranch for making this wonderful, relaxing, renewing retreat!!! What an incredible experience! Would give 10 stars if I could - Thank you!!!!! …

Our family of 5, boys ages 10, 12 and 14, had an amazing experience at Flat Creek Ranch. We arrived on a very rainy afternoon. We quickly met the other guests at the orientation and enjoyed our first of many amazing meals at the ranch. The large fireplace in the lodge kept us nice and warm in the cold rain. Our cabin, the Sissy Cabin, was nice. A tight, but good fit for our family. We didn’t spend much time in the cabin, so there’s no need for it to be luxurious. The bed was nice, and the stove kept us warm…after we learned how to use it. The first morning we had a wonderful breakfast and a guided hike. Colca, the black lab, went along with us and provided comic relief up the steep inclines. We had a group of 8 and Westin, our guide, was amazing. We enjoyed fly fishing that afternoon. And the horseback riding was really nice, even for this very anxious, novice rider. Here’s what I loved about it- they did all the planning- meals, activities, schedules…it was dine for us! We arrived and they made everything easy and enjoyable. Meeting the other guests and staff members added fun as well. The staff was so friendly and warm, especially Dani, Scott, George, Shade, and Jamie. The s’mores bonfire with guitar music was the perfect exclamation point to an amazing experience. Here’s what I *wished* I would have known going in- they’re off the grid, so electricity is rationed, and you can’t use a hairdryer. Not a big deal, at all, but I have a ton of hair and it was cold outside. So I should have washed it before bed so it would dry. What to pack- layers and hiking boots, if you go in a hike, can also be used for horseback riding. Meals are casual, so no need to really dress up for them. Enjoy the beautiful piece of history and peaceful escape.…

Right from the minute we were picked up at the hotel till we were dropped off at the airport, our experience was exceptional. My husband and I stayed in the beautiful Josephine cabin, that overlooks the Flat Creek. Horseback riding, fly fishing and hiking was excellent, but boy did we love the hot tub and sauna after our long days of playing. The food that Adam prepared for us was out of this world. From all the different places we have visited around the world, the attention to detail and service was second to none. We have already booked for next year and would like to thank the staff - Trey, Shelby, Dani, Scott, Jamie, Nick, Ang, Connor, Leo, Robb, Adam and Adam for the best vacation we have ever had.

What a treat! The staff were amazing, the cabins very nice (including a Yeti filled with all sorts of drinks), and the food was fantastic. We had a great horseback ride - not a nose to tail ride at all -and learned to fly fish on Flat Creek. They give you equipment and you can go whenever you wish. Guided hikes are offered and you can hike on your own (there's bear spray in each cabin). Canoe or paddle board on the beautiful little lake. Worth every penny. I'd love to go again.

My family (wife, two boys 13 & 15, and I) had an amazing trip to the Flat Creek Ranch in late June. A ranch trip was on our family vacation bucket list, and we chose this one because of the beautiful, unique setting and reviews. I also liked how we could spend less than a full week -- which allowed us to spend time in Jackson before driving to the ranch. This was a totally new travel experience and budget level....and totally worth it. I'll touch on a few things: Lodging: Staying in cabins with over 100 year old history was fascinating. They were obviously rustic but restored to a pristine, even luxurious, condition. The Cissy Cabin was perfect for our family. Check out Google Maps for 360 images of several cabins and grounds. Activities: After visiting the busy national parks, it was refreshing to hike with only our small group. Staff & horses made for a very chill and enjoyable ride. We liked the lake watercraft (SUPS, kayaks, canoes, etc.). Finally, fishing was good, though if you want a more guaranteed catch, you may want a guided session. People: The staff (Trey, Shelby, Dani, Scott, Daniel, etc. and guests were wonderful. We enjoyed the friendly and relaxed vibe among everyone. My wife was dealing with long-haul Covid/mono, and they made special accommodations to ensure that she had a wonderful stay. She truly felt cared for by all of the staff (with a special shout-out to Dani). Dining/Lodge: It was an amazing treat to walk a few steps to the lodge (no car, no UTV, no cart) where we were spoiled by Chef Daniel!!! Not only is he a fabulous and creative cook, but he is also a good guy who makes you feel connected to the food experience. It's worth knowing that meals are eaten with the guests and hosts (so about 16 people gather around two tables). That was a new experience for us, and we enjoyed it. Service: Small touches like coffee dropped at our cabin in the AM. Sending a pre-trip questionnaire to allow you to share preferences (e.g. food allergies or food requests). Tips: Stay in Jackson 2-3 nights ahead of your visit. You'll be in the groove & used to the altitude. They provide great concierge recommendations for the surrounding area. Highly recommend FCR!!!!!…

My Husband and I were blessed with best cabin there. Josephine. We had a view from bedroom of lake and mountains. I enjoyed watching an Osprey scoop down and grab a fish and be chased by bald eagle one morning. On a group hike to Teton Overlook we saw an incredible Mule Deer. Our first night at the ranch we were spoiled with dinner under the stars, taking in the lake while enjoying best Lamb and chicken we have ever had in our lives. Spoiled by all the creative fresh meals every day. Staff were polite and friendly. Cabins were clean and stocked.

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the ranch. We took the advice and did a few days exploring the parks and the town of Jackson prior to arrival at the ranch. The ranch exceeded our expectations. Great attention to detail like wildflowers on the morning coffee tray and a personal note accompanying a bottle of champagne was truly special. Daniel’s food is something I will never forget. Unforgettable horseback riding, hiking, and fishing. Thank you trey, Shelby, Daniel, tor, Jamie, munch, and the rest of the crew for a wonderful stay. We are referring all of our friends and family.

We had an amazing time at Flat Creek Ranch!! Booking was easy and Dani answered any/all questions for me via email before arriving. We took advantage of everything we could during our stay. We started off with 2 nights at the back country camp with Nick and Scott. It was a blast! Scott led us on a ~1.5 hour trail ride. Nick greeted us at camp where everything was set up. The two of them took care of everything for us...guiding us on a fantastic hike, making delicious food (ribs, breakfast burritos, buffalo bolognese, etc), and being all around fun hosts! Awesome time! We rode the horses back to the ranch and stayed in the Josephine cabin for 3 nights. Josephine cabin was excellent - we had such great views of the lake and the creek. It was clean and well-kept. We used the wash room to shower instead of the bathtub in the cabin — easy, clean, no issues. We wanted to learn to fly fish and Dani rearranged the whole schedule so that we could learn from Brad in the morning and fish all day. Brad was an amazing guide — he was patient and encouraging. In the end we wound up catching a bunch of fish (this place really is magical). The next day we hiked up the Sleeping Indian. Scott was the best guide we could ask for! He is really knowledgeable and answered any and all questions we had. He pointed out different plants, edible berries to try along the way and any wildlife that popped up (like big horn sheep). He even took photos of us completing the hike. It was a tough climb but he made it really enjoyable for us! Overall, this place felt like the breath of fresh air we needed. The atmosphere and most importantly the people are what makes this place special — everyone goes above and beyond. There are a lot of little things that they did - from coffee in the morning, to book recommendations, singing (Jamie) and playing the fiddle (John), delicious food (Marco), and just asking how our activities were— that made us never want to leave. Thanks so much to Trey, Shelby, Dani!, Scott, Nick, Brad, Jamie, John, Munch, and Marco!! This was our first trip out, but will definitely not be our last. …
