In the 1960s, Founder Glenn Napierski saw many visitors to Jackson Hole sleeping in their cars. He built The Virginian Lodge as a place for these families to stay, have fun, and build memories. Today, the same holds true. We want the travelers, drifters, locals, and adventure seekers who pull into our lodge to feel well taken care of and welcome to enjoy all that the area has to offer. At The Virginian, we create opportunities for people to come together and make unique and lasting memories. We help keep the spirit of the West alive, keep people dreaming, and keep people coming back.

My husband and I met up with our 26 year old son in Jackson Hole, to begin our trip through the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks in mid-Sept. 2022. We rented the 2 bed, 2 bath room labeled the "Outbound 2 Bedroom Suite". What a find! Now everything in Jackson Hole is pricey, but this option was a $150 cheaper than two rooms at the Motel 6, and a better location to boot. The room was newly remodeled, had a mini fridge, small sink, and microwave in the kitchenette area. This area also had a small sofa, round table for 4, and a credenza area for storage. The bathrooms were nice with waterfall shower heads (no tubs) and decent water pressure. LOVED the mint and chamomile bath products. We made use of the hot tubs after hiking, but not the pool...too cool for us! The owners also provide guests with a smore kit every night at the frot desk, to use around the several fire-pits scattered around the inner courtyard. What a nice, unexpected touch! We chatted with several different guests and had a lovely evening sharing stores. The staff was friendly and very helpful when we had questions about restaurants and area attractions. I would definitely stay again, and can highly recommend thie place!

The Virginian was an incredible stay! If you are coming tonJackson, I would look no further than the Virginian! The room was perfect and the pool/hot tub area are perfect! The breakfast the next day at the Virginian restaurant was literally our favorite meal of our 7 day trip from Glacier down to Jackson!

In the fast paced Jackson area it was such a surprise to come across a hotel with a quiet, peaceful courtyard. You couldn't hear the busy highway. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Though the style was a bit oldish in design, it was very clean. You go there to sleep because you are out at the NP all all day, so it really doesn't matter. We would stay there again if we had to stay in Jackson.

My crew of 14 and myself stayed for a little over a week. Clean and affordable rooms with the most comfortable pillows of any hotel we've stayed at. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Highly recommend.

We spent six nights at The Virginian during the month of August. The rates were very reasonable compared to other similar places. The lodge looked to be recently redone except the back building that we stayed in. It seemed that some of it had been updated, but there were a few things off (table was warped and couldn't hold drinks, carpet was lumpy, and stains on ceiling). However, the customer service and pricing made up for that. We enjoyed that you could walk into Jackson if desired (less than a mile) and that there was always plenty of parking. Loved the lobby with the self help water, coffee, tea setup and the cleanliness of the pool area. Overall, would stay here again if not looking for something uber fancy!

The Virginian was the perfect place to spend our anniversary. My favorite was sitting by the fire pit eating s’mores that were provided each evening by this establishment. The courtyard was well kept and had many outdoor games with a pool and hot tub.

No food service on site. On the second floor and had to haul suitcases up 12 steps to room. No microwave in room and had to take food three buildings over to lobby to heat up. No guest laundry services.

Response from SKB Virginian, General Manager at The Virginian Lodge
Responded 1 week ago
We are so sorry that we were not aware of your expections in advance of your stay. The Virginian is primarily a ranch-style hotel & the majority of our rooms are ground level. We do have two additional 2-story buildings - if your room style selection lands you there, we are more than happy to assign a ground level room if that is requested. We also have several suites offering microwaves if that is a priority. The Virginian Restaurant serves up a hearty homestyle breakfast & lunch service daily and Billy's Burgers is so close to comeback! There is a lovely coin-op laundry across the street from the Lodge that our guests have utilized and praised. Thank you very much for your feedback - we really appreciate our highest ranking being service as we truly aim to please.

We stayed three nights at the lodge in mid September. It is a pricey area at any time of year, but the rate for a terrific room was in line with other offerings. The staff was very friendly with area recommendations and check in. We were allowed to tour our reserved room and one available for upgrade and we chose the larger room. The accommodations were very good. We parked right at the door and this was pretty helpful for a multi-day stay. They have invested a lot in upgrades and work is ongoing, but did not affect our stay. The modern upgrades to the 60’s era building are well done. Beds, furniture and bathroom furnishings are new. The evening s’mores with fire pits were a nice treat and good way to meet fellow travelers. The recommended breakfast spot across the street was popular with locals and very good.

The room was clean and comfortable. However, I was dissapointed to find that in our two-bedroom suite, you must walk through one bedroom to access the second bedroom. That might be ok for a family; bot not so much for two couples.
