We recently celebrated our 46th anniversary and chose Elk Mountain Hotel as our destination. If you desire to escape, unplug and disconnect, while enjoying a first class experience, then this is perfection. The surrounding beauty, the hotel's accommodations, Susan and Arthur's warm hospitality and the outstanding cuisine are all second to none. Add to this Susan's culinary expertise that rivals...

We needed a place not in Laramie at UW homecoming for a birthday celebration. We found EMH online and liked the description and the professional tone. This place, Susan and Arthur are a step into another time when quality service, attention to detail, and hospitality was primary goal. The hotel has been expertly renovated and maintained. The workmanship and detail...

My wife and I stayed at the Elk Mountain Hotel over the weekend. We had heard good things about the hotel, and about the restaurant on site. We were not disappointed. The rooms, while small, were very clean and comfortable. Each of the rooms were named after famous people who had some connection with the hotel over the years. The...

We stayed here a few days ago travelling back from the Tetons and Yellowstone to Denver. We picked it as it seemed suitably special and a nice way to finish off our trip from the UK. We came with suitably high expectations having looked at the reviews here and the pictures on the hotel web site, all of which promised...

This was my second stay at Elk Mountain while on route to visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone. This time I traveled with my 85 year old Mother and my wife. As with my last visit I found the hotel charming and well maintained. Each room has its own personality, story and unique features and decorations. Be sure to read the...

You certainly don't know what to expect when you decide to stay in a town with a population of 191. But as they say, good things exist small places. <g> The Elk Mountain Hotel is a lovely base from which to explore the many small towns in the area or check out fall colors. The rooms are beautifully decorated and...

Stayed here recently on a road trip through Wyoming and what a find. It really is a little gem, a beautiful Victorian building lovingly restored to offer exceptional style and comfort. Our room was stylishly decorated to reflect the period, lovely comfortable bed and spacious ensuite bathroom. We had a lovely dinner cooked by chef patron, Susan, and a delicious...

My husband and I stayed at the Elk Mountain Hotel the night before a Wyoming football game. We found it to be exceptional. Very clean, food was excellent, owners were very helpful and interesting to visit with and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is historic and has been very tastefully renovated with period furnishing. We would highly...

We stayed in the hotel and ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The decor was pleasant and the bed comfortable. The food was divine. The dinner (salmon in a pillow; pan-fried pork chops with sausage gravy) is on our list of top meals enjoyed around the world. It is worth the effort...

Fun historic hotel in which to stay. We enjoyed our time there, and our time at the museum in Encampment (that museum is definitely worth your visit). The food is hands down fantastic! The pricing is a bit steep we felt. The walls a bit thin, rooms a bit small... However the hotel was built in early 1900s so these...
