We booked a room for 2 nights online for a business trip. We received a confirmation number so we know they received our reservation. When our companies salesman arrived they were rude and told him that they were "too busy" to check there website and all there rooms were booked. "Sorry!" Our salesman had to sleep in his truck. Horrible!
We pulled in there was a cook-out going on by the corner rooms. 3 or 4 grills with amazing smells coming from them. I checked in and found out our room was right next to the cook-out. Considered asking for a different room. I just knew there was going to be a party going on all night. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. We ate dinner across the street. When we returned the cook-out was still going on. Much to my surprise once in the room we could not hear anything from outside. In the morning, all was cleaned up. Long story to say... great place.
I received a friendly reception upon arrival with assistance about restaurant, stores and services in town. My spacious room had two beds with a separating wall, a table and two chairs, a fridge with freezer compartment, a microwave, a desk with chair, a luggage bench and a coffee maker. A large bathroom and an older A/C that had to work hard to move air through the room. The flat screen TV was wall-mounted with a flexible holder and good HD picture. The accommodation was clean and well maintained, though the property is quite old. A good restaurant is across the street, a Safeway, a liquor store and gas station within a mile.
I've stayed here before. Every time I say I'll never go back but I didn't have a choice this time. The main heater didn't work so a small space heater was all I had. Cranked up all the way it couldn't get above 60degrees on cold nights. The towels smelled rank. The room itself stunk like rat pee. You can hear both neighbors on either side snoring at night. The carpet was wore out, dirty, and sticky. Linen on the bed wasn't replaced for my stay but once. The water temp in the shower fluctuated from warm to ice cold back to scalding hot. To top it off I was left a note to move out 3 days early because she overbooked. I'd give this place a zero out of ten. Your better off sleeping in a tent. The owner was rude when she explained she overbooked even though I'd stayed 17 nights there already and extended my stay 4 days early. I'll never stay here again.…
Unfortunately the wind was not blowing hard enough at the Four Winds motel. The odor of the place was terrible. There was a back door to the room and and old heater of some kind with bad air coming out. Both in and out door areas were dirty. We have stayed at many mom and pop motels and this was the worst.
Well equipped, comfortable rooms and friendly staff in this older but well maintained motel. Easy to find on a main street with adequate parking, good lighting and good beds. Fairly quiet for a main street especially later in the evening. This was an excellent value for the price.
I loved this little place and it's nearly impossible to beat the price. The room was very clean, the bathroom outdated--but who cares if it's clean. The owners were so nice and friendly, was happy to support them.
Clean room, all conveniences included such as micro, fridge, coffee maker, alarm clock, a hair dryer, comfortable bed AND nice, friendly owners - what more can one ask for? Yes, the decor is dated - although not shabby - besides, I don't "sleep" for decor! I had a spacious room with 2 places for my suitcase, a desk, large mirror, good lighting and a small table with 2 chairs. All in all a very short but enjoyable stay. Although there was a nice looking restaurant directly across the street, I tried the truck stop down the road and I was surprisingly please with that also! And last but certainly not least? The completely reasonable price!!! I wish I could say that I'll be back but because I usually don't travel this way- that isn't likely. However I certainly will tell anyone traveling in this area that this is a motel worth going a few minutes out of your way for.…
CJ and I arrived after dark in Douglas, road weary to the point of near-exhaustion from a 400+ mile, multiple stops drive that originated in North Dakota. Finding the mid-level motels sprouting no vacancy signs or demanding exorbitant rates, we opted for the Four Winds. The nice lady at the desk had quoted a rate of just fifty bucks over the phone, so we were more than a bit apprehensive. It turned out just fine, and we even had something of an adventure. Road construction forced us to take a circuitous route to the Four Winds that involved driving from a side street through several adjacent parking/curbside areas to connect with the motel parking lot. It’s really not that difficult, just highly irregular. To tell the truth, it was whoop-de-doo fun! This is a small, old-fashioned ma and pa motel, but it’s reasonablyclean and there are some nice amenities. The lady tending the small, cluttered office is super-friendly and SO happy to greet guests who’ve negotiated the tricky access to get a bargain rate. Our room (number 4) was quite spacious and had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and flat screen TV. The mattresses are very comfy. The free WiFi is speedy and secure (get the password at the office). Don’t expect all kinds of other frills. You’ll get only one room key, and it’s the old fashioned kind. Don’t forget to stock your travel kit, because the shampoo you’ll get here comes in little envelopes and the bath soap is truly tiny. There is no complimentary breakfast, nor should any be expected at this bargain rate. Meals, snacks, and adult beverages are available across the street at the Plains Trading Post Restaurant and Lounge. Walking across the street to get there is apparently illegal because of the road construction hazards, so you are supposed to take the long way around. Not everyone takes the long way around.…
Hard to know what to say. Clean, had what we needed, sort of. Very old and worn. Small bathroom, small commode. Okay for one night and the price was right compared to everything else in town. Good idea to have your shampoo and soap. Bars of soap were smallest I have ever seen. A/C worked well which is always a plus. Just not sure how they got the rating they did.
