A historic guest ranch located in the Shoshone National Forest only 25 miles West of Cody, WY and 25 miles East the East Entrance of Yellowstone. Lodging, trail Rides, and dining available to guests and to the public. Est. 1925.
My husband and I stayed here during the Cody car show. It was fantastic. So relaxing, beautiful, super clean and staff was friendly and helpful. We had dinner and it was excellent! Went for breakfast before our horseback ride in the morning and just had oatmeal and even that was delicious. Our wrangler for the horse ride was great too. It was all a great experience and we can’t wait to go back. We regret not planning a two night stay, next time we will know better! Five stars all the way.

Our family had a wonderful 3 night stay! All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts and suppers at the lodge were fantastic! Their huckleberry cheesecake was one of the best desserts we have ever had in a restaurant! We took the 2 hour trail ride and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful setting and cozy, comfortable cabins. All of us said we wished we had booked more nights!

We went horseback riding with the ranch. We did the 4 hour with lunch! It was wonderful. The view was incredible from the mountains. Our guide Logan was great. The horses were very easy, my grandson had never been riding, but had no problem with the horse and loved every minute!

We booked a 2-hr trail ride at Bill Cody Ranch and had so much fun! I looked at a few other ranches, but I chose this one because we were able to book an evening ride (6:30-8:30) and because the views are amazing. The ride is through the Shoshone National Forest. Most of it is very easy. The trail is well-worn and crosses a very shallow creek at several points. There is one part that goes up the side of a hill and back down that might make some people nervous. The horses are all very well-trained and require little to no direction. They know the trail and follow the horse in front. That being said, horses are animals, and there is always some level of risk when riding. I was glad we didn’t bring our 12 and 14-year-old kids because I don’t think they would have wanted to ride that long. Some kids would love it and do just fine! We had steak and rib dinners waiting on us when we got back to the ranch, and everything was delicious! The staff are super friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening!…

Take caution before booking a horse ride here!. We were told a 2 hour trail ride was suitable for beginners after I had expressed concern with a 9 year old granddaughter had never ridden a horse for more than just a pony ride in a circle. I was assured it was appropriate and they had skilled wranglers. The trail ended up much more advanced than a beginner would take. Very rugged terrain. We had an incident going up a very steep incline where my daughter was thrown from the horse. We had to walk 45 minutes back to the stable from which we took her to the ER to be examined her for head injuries. The ranch had no training or provisions to evacuate someone off the trail. The young wrangler had but 4 months of experience and was ill prepared to handle the situation. The ER in Cody Wy is sparsely supported and could not read radiographs. They had to be sent to another facility for feedback which took several hours. Take note you sign a waiver before riding!! Otherwise, the rooms themselves were satisfactory at best. The planned food after the trail ride might have been good had we not had to warm in up in a microwave 5 hours after the fact. …

My visit to Bill Cody Ranch was amazing! The owners and all of the folks working there felt like extended family. They took time to talk with us and shared information about local places to visit. The restaurant at the ranch was equally amazing. The cabins are clean and decorated with rustic decor. It was the best vacation ever! I will absolutely visit with them again and recommend to everyone!

I had no idea really what I was doing when I booked this reservation. We had never been to Cody Wy before and I'm one of those that trust reviews. This was the most relaxing place we've ever stayed and just what we needed!! We had our kids and grandkids and they loved it too. Lots to do and adventures to make if you want too. The food was delicious, and the staff was beyond helpful and pleasant!!! We loved our stay and hope to be able to return again someday!!
