Washburn is a pretty small town along the lake
The washburn Inn is pretty much the only thing there

Check in was easy and the staff were pleasant.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, but they didn’t appear to have an elevator

The room was OK. We did not have a waterfront room which would have been nice

The room was reasonably sized and appeared clean

The AC worked, but was older and kind of loud

The TV was large and had a good selection of channels

The lighting in the room was OK and there were some outlets

There was no microwave but there was a fridge

The bed was past its prime- very saggy mattress.

The bathroom was small, but appeared clean

of course this is not a fault of the hotel, but there is no good restaurant anywhere near. On a Tuesday night not a single restaurant in town was open. PLAN AHEAD. There are lots of places in Ashland about 10 miles away. There are a few in Bayfield 10 miles further down the road

they had coffee in the morning, but nothing else.

overall I thought the room was pricey considering the size, age, bed, and lack of a pool, gym, any food, etc.

The Washburn Inn is in a nice central location to many options. It is an older motel that has been decorated nicely. The customer service on phone and at the counter was very good. Being directly in front of the marina, you have many beautiful viewing options. There is a walking trail which will take you down to a small beach area,
The whole setting is peaceful. Washburn has some nice restaurants and other business to visit. Unfortunately due to the Covid they were closed, I look forward to visiting again. A few side notes: The bathroom was a little small, the AC was a little noisy, but white noise is good in a motel so you don't hear neighbors.

It was a 2-night trip. I had a dream. The Washburn Inn is an older motel on the shore of Lake Superior, east side of the Apostle Islands National Park. We stayed for a couple of week nights and it was a quiet time, early August. The staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean with solid curtains that held back the morning sun. It's not fancy and may have a lingering odor of the days of smoking inside.

In a day and age where costumer service seems a lost art, the staff at the Washburn Inn was extremely welcoming and friendly. Case in point, my wife, kids, and I mixed up the reservations and arrived a day early. While many hotels would have made us feel like we were an inconvenience, the staff at Washburn Inn made us feel at ease and went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. In addition to great service, the location is a great launching point for the surrounding area, and you can not beat the view of the harbor from the hotel. Thanks Washburn Inn for making us feel so welcomed.

When I booked a room at this hotel, I paid extra for a reservation with "free cancelation". My daughter got sick, and we were not able to go on our weekend get-away. Turns out that there is no free cancelation. Just not good business. Slimy. Terri was not very helpful. Paid full reservation plus extra for free cancelation for nothing! Will never book there again!

Stayed here on the second floor #206 for 3 nights. Room was clean roomy and comfy. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Just a note, there is no elevator which may pose a problem for some. Ice machine is on the first floor, small lobby has complimentary iced water and coffee. On the shore there are chairs lined up that made for a pleasant place to chat and enjoy the lake. We would stay again

No one person on the entire staff wore masks. There was no elevator, which made it difficult to get heavy bags up the stairs.. There was not a chair available for a second person to sit in. We had to bring one of our bag chairs up to the room.

Spent one night. The base rate was $139 plus $7.50 State Tax, and $9.00 for local taxes.
The room was clean and simple. We had room 102, which was very near the front door, and was Handicap Friendly. Large TV, in-room small fridge. The microwave was available in the common area, as well as coffee at the front desk. Nothing fancy, just clean and simple. There were no bibles available in the room.
This is a tourist area, and so being able to find anything for a room is always a good thing. There are places to eat nearby. There are no big-name restaurants available unless you go to Ashland. Book ahead if you are going during the tourist season.

Had been finding it difficult to find anywhere to eat as everywhere locally seems to close very early at the moment so we took a chance on the Washburton Inn and we were r disappointed. It’s lovely and roomy, nice and socially distanced. There were tables out the front and parking. Super friendly greeting from who I presume is the owner, we were the last to be served but we were t rushed at all. A nice concise pub grub menu, burgers and salads all round (with a side of pink gin). Bit of a mix up with one order but they were very apologetic and for it sorted straight away, food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. We stayed on a week night in the off season, and we were the only ones there. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a great location, and we had a wonderfully quiet and restful night. Highly recommended. Only one question: why build the hotel perpendicular to the lake so not one room has a decent view of the water? Very strange…
