We stayed here with friends for two nights and ate in for supper on both evenings. Amongst the things we ate were Ducks livers on toast, Pate, Mushrooms with spinach on toast. Venison suet with venison roast. Fish and chips, leg of lamb chop. Saute potatoes, chipped potatoes, mushy peas. An excellent salted ice cream. For breakfast we all had...

Had a really lovely dinner here, all food really fresh, well cooked and presented. Service is very attentive and happy to help including for any special requests. Great wine list also, and overall not overly expensive. Definitely worth a visit!

Have eaten here before so this was our second visit & treating friends to lunch. As expected the quality of the food was excellent and the beer wasn't bad either. Very dog friendly as all good pubs should be. Funny how many places that are frankly greasy spoons won't allow dogs but up market places will. This pub is part...

A quick visit for hot chocolate and cake to warm up after a seal visit at morston. Excellent hot chocolate and very large warm scones and slabs of cake. Lovely location and very busy still despite it being after lunch. Would go back to sample the lunch or dinner menu.

From reservations to check out, everyone was incredibly helpful and polite. All the bedrooms / bathrooms were very comfortable (we stayed in the Ancient House) and spotlessly clean. Fridays evening meal was very good with service to match and the residents "Drawing Room" offered a cosy retreat for our group after dinner.

I booked to stay here with my wife over the easter weekend, whilst we were up in Norfolk visiting family. I had been recommended the hotel by friends, who had stayed recently. We arrived at 3pm, and were promptly checked in to the hotel by a member of staff. At the same time we were given details of where our...

A good selection of Adnams and Norfolk ales served by friendly staff. Lunch food was interesting and tasty but not hearty. The pub welcomed dogs and walkers and situated on the main road on the periphery of the attractive village of Holcomb Well worth a visit if in locality

We had a very nice dinner here. The best part of the evening was the wines that were both sourced from Adnams and were nice and fairly priced. My reservations and suggestions are: 1. I think the welcome and co-ordination between bar and dining area could be better. We said we would like drinks before dinner. We sat down near...

Recently stopped for lunch after a walk along the beach with our dog. Initially we were a bit apprehensive as wasn't too sure how welcome the pooch would be inside, but boy were we wrong. Brilliant & friendly staff, great atmosphere and good food. A tad on the pricier side but you get what you pay for.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, The Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham Estate. There are ten elegant, indivually designed and stylish bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. We are ready to welcome more guests in spring 2015 with the addition of a further ten bedrooms just across the road from The Victoria in one of the oldest buildings on the Holkham Estate: Ancient House. The building has been converted to provide ten additional bedrooms, including four spacious family room. The sympathetic refurbishment has retained many of the building's original features, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity. The bar and dining rooms at The Vic offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. We serve delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate, with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800's when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. ... more   less
