Soulitude is a place with a good soul and you can feel it in every aspect. Be it the spacious rooms with very tastefully done interiors, impeccably maintained lawns and balconies or the complaisant staff.
The place is more like a cosy home with large terraces and sit-outs. We have travelled extensively around Kumaon and stayed at all good places, we can easily rate Soulitude to be the best stay experience in the area. The food is excellent and we really loved the elaborate BBQ they set up on the lawn. It was a pleasant experience to witness the alacrity with which the staff shifted the entire BBQ setup indoors as soon as it started raining so in. More than the food it's their focus to make your experience better, that impressed us.
Thank you for a great time and especially the flipchart you provided for us to play Pictionary!

We are a couple with a 4 yr old kid. This was our first holiday after covid lockdown. We were a bit concerned on safety and hygiene in our property of choice. All our concerns were put to rest from the time we stepped in.
Other than being one of the most beautiful property we have stayed around nainital, the staff was very particular about safety of guest by maintaining proper social distancing, sanitization of frequently touched points (door handles, table/chair) etc. Following are few exceptional positives that i want to call out
1) one of the best views in the region. I would strongly recommend staying here instead of nainital (hardly 40 min drive)
2) very well and thoughtful interiors. Everything looks so detailed. To an extent that i could see radiation purifiers across property which we would never expect a hotel to provide
3) food- i still crave for the food provided there. Chef is an expert and staff has a personal touch during serving. Menu for the day is shared in advance and staff ensures that they take care of your preference. Our kid is very choosy about his food, staff was very flexible on taking last moment request as well for our kids meal.
4) covid safety - everyone wears mask/gloves. Hotel is sanitized thoroughly on a daily basis. Rooms are kept empty for a day after checkout to ensure safety of next guest. This policy is followed in spirit, even at the cost of losing business. We wanted to extend our stay by one more day but we had to change rooms as our original room had a guest checking in a day later.
5) GM Mr Bhanu is a thorough and helpful gentleman. He helped us in planning all our itineraries in advance and also went to an extent by giving hand sketch of route with places to visit.
6) owners are very flexible on booking. We were originally a group of 4 families which got shortened to 2 and at the very last moment, to 1.
They are very flexible with cancellation and refund if the reason is genuine. All our last moment changes were accomodated in a rational manner.
Overall, i would Highly recommend this place and will myself want to go again at the next opportune time.

Soulitude was highly recommended by many friends. Despite having our favourite hill homes we decided to try it especially due to the strict Covid protocol they follow (our first escape in one year that too for a special occasion).
The level of cleanliness and attention to detail in the property is fantastic. The GM was always available or in touch on the phone for any organization - eg treks around for which they send a guide, every meal menu was sent in advance. I’m gluten-free that too they factored in wherever necessary. Each meal was a sumptuous feast!
It’s rare to find a property where each room is very accurately described on its website. There are a lot of sit outs with lots of scope for distancing.
Thank you to all the staff, it’s unfair to name only the few who interacted with us as everything from booking to check-out was seamlessly organised.

Our experience right from the reservation was a thoroughly professional one. Their website is amazing and there are brilliant videos of each suite so that travellers can make up their mind well in advance. All their rooms have enchanting names such as Bliss, Nirvana, Secret Garden, etc.
We decided to stay in ‘Nirvana’ as it had a private balcony and a massive window with amazing views.
They have a quaint, bright dining room and a common area with a fire place which we used. There are a lot of open seating areas with sweeping views of the valley and the Himalayan range.
We were lucky enough to encounter hail the day we reached and the children had a a great time making a snowman. The weather cleared up over the weekend and the magnificent Himalayan ranges were visible.
We also spent an afternoon at their other property ‘Soulitude by the Riverside’ and that too is a wonderful property.
While service was outstanding the choice of food was limited and that according to me was the only missing piece.
Cannot say enough about the property and I’ll let my photos speak for our amazing experience !
Would certainly like to visit again.

Staff had forgotten to smile and greet, food was not good, you were forced to take buffet, a very basic food at atrocious prices, a la carte choice was not offered inspite of repeated request.
Inspite of good location and rooms, we 4 couples will not recommend stay here due to rigid and inflexible attitude of staff and horrible food.
On the main road , 50 yards before Soulitude, an excellent cafe offered much much better food.

For our recent family trip we stayed at soulitude in the Himalayas and to say that we loved it would be an understatement. This beautiful little property located on the hills near Nainital has a great view of the party in the hills.
Additionally as guests we could feel that the hotel had a very personal touch in its decor Which we learnt was handpicked personally Mrs Chandra(whom now I really want to meet personally to appreciate her aesthetic sensibilities). We had booked all the three rooms in the cottage essentially making the cottage our own place and within two days it felt like our own home. Our parents would watch tv in the living room, while my husband and I would have tea on the balcony outside our room while his younger brother would read in the study. All while we took in the wonderful mountain view.
Another highlight of our stay was yhe amazing food that we had the great hospitality from the hotel staff. Chef Bisen cooked up great dishes from a pre decided menu every day and the food was so tasty that it made us all break our dieting vows.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxed family trip.

We just got back from Soulitude in the himalayas.. and I must say every day we spent there was nothing short of exceptional. The incredible hospitality, the lip smackingly delicious food, the overflowing warmth, the beautiful aura of this place with such tastefully done interiors speaks volumes about how much thought was put in building this place!!
Waking up facing the majestic Himalayas was the cherry on the cake. There are times you don't forget in life, and this was one of them... Simple, peaceful, secluded and pristine. A special thanks to Prithvi Ji, Vinod ji, Suraj ji and the entire staff who left no stone unturned to make this trip a memorable one..

I went for my second visit to soulitude this August and had an equally amazing experience like I did in my previous visit. The property is well maintained and has very nice and spacious rooms. The staff looked after us very well catering to our needs for small babies (3&2) with utmost care.
It is very accessible from Delhi by road and is the perfect getaway from the city's hustle bustle. There are nice restaurants near by to visit and one can go for nature walks too. We also enjoyed playing badminton in the garden and tambola in our lounge! The older kids (9&7) had a wonderful time exploring the property and its flora and fauna.
The wifi connection is strong and electricity back up is 100% , by the end of the fourth day it started to feel like home and we all were very sad to be leaving the next day.
I would definately recommend to visit soulitude with family or friends for a refreshing break.

Oh..as I sit down to write this review,my heart is filled with peace and gratitude to have experienced this lovely little piece of heaven.
We,a family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights in the second week of March.Even though this place came highly recommended by loads of friends,we were sceptical as we like the hustle bustle and activities on a holiday, too much solitude in the past year at home already you see.We drove from Nainital with bated breath hoping that we wouldn’t be regretting our decision about our stay here.
Oh boy, from the time we drove up to the gate where the well meaning guard guided us down the winding and high inclined path into the hotel right up to the time we checked out,we were in for a treat to all of our senses.Since the property was not fully booked for those days, the manager gave us a tour of all the rooms so that we could have our pick and that I think was the hardest part of our stay. Each room/suite,so exquisitively and tastefully designed with one view better than the other,we could only sigh and wish that swapping rooms every hour was an option.
After zeroing in on the suite called Blessed(and that we were) we were treated to a delightful fresh, home cooked meal in the dining room which is such an eclectic place with Boho, kitsch, country all kinds of decor themes married ever so beautifully.Dinner was a bonfire where we got to mingle with some like minded peeps and had a soulful evening.
Everyday we did some treks to explore the area with a very knowledgeable local guide which opened up our minds to the simplicity and efficiency of the locals.
The bedrooms are well pointed with all the possible needs and wants including bed warmers and heated towel racks.A special mention for her album that has been curated to take us in a journey with the owners, their dreams, ideation and finally fruition all the while balancing their impact on nature and the locals flora and fauna,The words in that album are simply magical and worth a couple of reads in the deck overlooking the Snowladen and Majestic Himalayas.
The staff right from the manager who kept us abreast of what was on the menu for the next meal(very important as we were forever hungry there...blame it on the fresh air) to showing us every little detail be it about the plants or the mountains to making Garam ginger tea to our taste, were so polite and ever willing to oblige.
All in all, this was a blessed stay for us and we do hope to return sooner than later again.

I don’t think so, based on discussions with the staff, better to reconfirm with the property.
Now! It's snowing at Soulitude. Snowfalls are usually expected in January & February.
It’s a steep slope where the hotel is located but the property is child friendly. They do have a lot of toys and books for kids as well as DVDs of various kid movies.
