This was our second visit to Soulitude. We had been extremely impressed by the environs and the infrastructure here, not to forget the high levels of service. Hence, when we planned a family trip, to celebrate my late father’s 100th birth anniversary, we zeroed in on Soulitude

We stayed in suite called Quietude for 3 nights. All what property offers is just what is assumed form one of its stature and budget. May be a bit less. So what it lacks: 1. Absence of TV in rooms: At sub zero level temperature when you intend retiring in your room after the

I am glad that you felt that Soulitude offered you what you expected, but I wish to address the points that you raised in your review. 1. The “Important Information” section in our website clearly states that we do not have TVs in all the rooms. However, we do provide a choice of rooms which have a TV and the details are provided in the Room Guide section of the website. TVs in all rooms have not been provided deliberately since guests are able to better appreciate “Soulitude” without it. The TV in the lounge brings together guests in the evening to watch the news or sports, and this leads to shared experiences with like-minded travellers. 2. Food at Soulitude is generally well regarded, as is apparent from the reviews. It is also typical of small properties not to provide a large multi-cuisine buffet spread that you may expect at large format hotels. However, the Chef is glad to customise meals to guest preferences, as and when requested and to the extent practical. Again, our website clearly mentions that there is no room service and meals are served only in the Dining Room. 3. We do not accept Walk-in guests and entry is restricted to maintain the privacy of our residents and the sanctity of the retreat. Guests holding a valid reservation are provided detailed arrival information (including google links) in the confirmation email, the pre-check-in email and then subsequently on messages and calls during their journey. Our GM and his team are in constant touch with each arriving guest and the guard identifies and guides each vehicle into the gates of Soulitude. Your observations are actually elements of a carefully designed & personalised experience. Evolved travellers to such boutique properties recognise and appreciate these very aspects. For others, regular large format hotels offer a better match. Thank you for your stay.

It’s a steep slope where the hotel is located but the property is child friendly. They do have a lot of toys and books for kids as well as DVDs of various kid movies.

Soulitude in the Himalayas provides room heaters & hot water bottles. All beds have electric bed warmers. Wood burning fireplaces operate in the common areas. All this makes it fairly comfortable in the winters. However you will need to carry heavy woollens since the night time temperatures may dip to near zero. The days are usually quite bright & sunny between 12-18C. There is no central heating. The winters also provide spectacular views of the snow clad greater Himalayas and it's a very popular time for visitors.
