Everything about our stay was awesome. The staff were so kind and helpful and the rooms were super clean. The rooms were pretty sound proof allowing for a peaceful sleep. The breakfast was good with a very decent variety.
We stayed here two nights using our Hilton Points and it was great. Nice room with a comfortable bed. Nice access to Highway 53, but no road noise. Nice and clean. We would stay here again when we are in the area.
I was on third floor overlooking some building living complex. This room had roll down drapes, a shear and blocking. Everything looked new and clean. Bathroom was beautifully done. It had a refrigerator and microwave. Room very nice in appearance. We had walking noise coming from above but it was muffled. More the guest than a hotel problem. The bed was a little soft and we rolled into each other but my back felt fine in the morning. TV selection was a little limited. The HVAC unit was very noisy, it only had high fan speed unlike others that have had two or three settings. Almost made you sweat instead of letting it run. In the morning the breakfast was very nice and well stocked.
I wish this was a review but sadly it is just a list of my experiences as I never got to set foot in the door. After a fun filled few days in Apostle Island Area our next stop out in celebrating my husband’s birthday weekend was to be Rice Lake area. You see, my husband turned 60 last year but of course this was in the height of the pandemic so no travel for us. We decided to makeup for it this summer. We had been out enjoying the beautiful Wisconsin roads and scenery, enjoying being topless in our Jeep. So a little wind and sun weary. We had stopped to enjoy a local distillery and then had plans to check in and freshen up before enjoying a nice dinner at a local supper club. And then the phone rang at 4:05 p.m. On a Saturday. In one of the busiest tourist areas in Wisconsin. “ We are so sorry, but we are overbooked and have no room for you.” A computer system glitch was being blamed. I totally understand that many businesses are struggling with getting enough employees and to expect longer than normal waits at restaurants, etc. I get it, I can deal with that but this, wow, no way. At this point we are 3 and a half hours from our home. Like I said, a little sun and wind weary. There was no offer of help to find another room. There was no offer of a great deal on a future stay. There was no offer of come in, we are going to work on this, but in the mean time we will put you in a meeting room, anywhere. Nothing. Not one flipping thing. Mind you, I made this reservation through the Holiday Day Inn, IHG website. With my rewards account. Logged in as me. I am not certain of course, but I am willing to bet that there were reservations made after us. At this point, I am in tears. I begin calling other area hotels, b and b’s for lodging options. The employees at the distillery are brainstorming, but of course there is nothing. Nothing at 4:30 on a Saturday. I call back and ask to speak with management and why we were the “lucky ones.” No answer, just nothing. It is my hope that someone from management will reach out, we shall see. Thank you so much Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rice Lake for ruining our weekend. Yes, we drove all the way home, thanks much.…
My wife and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Rice Lake. We checked in on June 6th for one night. Our problem started about 4:00 in the afternoon when we started hearing voices and loud music outside of our room on the back of the hotel. There was a group of about 8 people gathered around their vehicles parked below our room talking, drinking, listening to music and playing catch with a softball. At one point the ball hit our car but no damage. At around 7:00 I called the front desk to let them know about the situation and see if they could get the music turned down. After about 20 minutes with no change, I went to the front desk. The lady at the desk said that she hadn’t had a chance to look into it yet. I asked what the hotels policy was for this kind of activity. She said that it was allowed until 10:00 PM. They did manage to get the volume lowered on the music but the noise still continued until 10:15 PM when it finally ended. If this is what you look for in a hotel then this is the perfect place for you. If you want to have a relaxing and enjoyable hotel experience go somewhere else. I sent an e-mail to the General Manager several weeks ago to make sure he was aware of this situation. I have not received a reply.…
Absolutely wonderful stay. Very clean and tidy. Jenny worked with us from the time I booked till departure time. She was wonderful! Location was perfect. Close to interstate 53 and just close enough to everything else. Thank you. Give Jenny a raise!
Overall, this was a great holiday inn express location, the beds were great, the rooms were very clean, and the common areas of the hotel were kept clean as well. The only downside is f out stay, was that due to covid-19 they did not have their cinnamon rolls.
Where to start... It's a new hotel in town, so we felt it would be the best option for a long stay. We have stayed I'm other Holiday Inns and expected the same quality. We were moving and had nowhere to stay while our house was being finished. Due to the pandemic, our hotel options were quite limited. We were told upon checkin that the pool was closed and that breakfast was limited to grab and go. We arrived for our 2 week stay, hauled countless bags to the room, unpacked, organized and got ready for bed. Imagine my surprise when I turned back what I assumed were clean sheets and pillow cases to find SOMEONE ELSE'S DIRTY SOCKS under the pillows!!! I have stayed in 100's of hotels and this is one of the most disgusting things I have experienced! Imagine snuggling in for the night and sticking your face in someone else's DIRTY SOCKS?! We called the front desk and they offered for us to move to a different room. At this point it was after 11 pm and we both had to work early in the morning. I felt clean sheets would suffice. Someone brought us a stack of sheets and had us change them ourselves. Dawning gloves and a plastic bag, they retrieved the socks and left. Breakfast was okay to start the week, by the end of the week the was hardly any food. Certainly nothing that wasn't high in calories, sugar and carbs. Very dissatisfied with the price and lack of service and amenities. Other guests were allowed to use the pool. Common areas such as elevator and breakfast area were not clean. We canceled our reservation for the following week and moved to a different hotel for our 2nd week. We only stayed there this long because it was too late to change our reservation and we certainly weren't going to pay for a room we weren't using. …
This place is awesome! Comfy bed and hot shower.Room was large and lots of outlets. Several Pizza delivery restaurants available Friendly staff at checkin and in the morning . Pool and hot tub and covid modified breakfast (cereal yogurt juice fruit) offered
I recently stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express Rice Lake on a Thursday night. I was mostly just passing through Rice Lake, as I made my way from Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls to tour Leinenkugel's towards Superior/Duluth to see family and enjoy one of my favorite cities, Duluth! I had a great stay here, and the hotel seemed very new and fresh! The rate of about $115 after tax and everything was also very reasonable in my opinion. I arrived at about 4:30 to check-in, after a full day of hiking at Lake Wissota State Park near Chippewa Falls. The desk clerks were extremely friendly and personable. I was a bit nervous about traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic, but I felt that I needed to carry out my plans for this trip after spending so much time at home for nearly 4 months. It seemed that safety precautions were being taken here in light of the pandemic. I had a standard room with king bed on the 4th (top) floor. It was a great room! I always enjoy the higher floors because they tend to be quieter, and they provide a great view! I could catch a glimpse of the lake if I looked at just the right angle! Anyway, the room was very spacious and well laid-out. I enjoyed the walk-in shower and the chair near the window for lounging. I found the bed to be very comfortable, as well. I enjoyed relaxing in my room for a while before heading out to dinner a bit later. I found an enjoyable restaurant called "Adventures Pub" a few miles away for dinner that I thought was very good. I would recommend that for a good dinner place! I enjoyed using the indoor pool/hot tub, and I was happy to see these open during the pandemic. I used the area both in the evening and the following morning before checking out. It was never busy down there when I was, and I usually got the area to myself! I only had to share with a mom and her 2 kids for a while, so it was nice and quiet. The pool was a nice temperature for swimming some laps, and the hot tub was relaxing after my day of hiking. I felt a little sore from a strenuous hike, and the hot tub was very soothing. I also liked that the pool/hot tub were located down a hallway in the back of the hotel, which made it feel even quieter. I slept very well here and woke up rested in the morning. I found that the curtains were very effective in darkening the room at night--possibly the best I have experienced in a hotel! It was nearly pitch black, which is just how I like it for sleeping! In the morning, a variety of items were available for a "grab and go" breakfast, but everything is individually wrapped right now and no hot items. I did decide to go to Perkins for breakfast since there was a location on the other side of US-53. This is one of my favorite chains for breakfast, but a lot of them near my home have closed in recent years, so I always like getting to one when I can find it. This was a good option for breakfast also, but they were understaffed on the morning I was there, so it took over an hour when all was said and done. After checking out, I continued on my trek north towards Superior/Duluth. I really enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Express Rice Lake, and I would definitely return if back in the area. I would recommend to anyone!…
