In town for a graduation and decided to try the Astor as it was conveniently located and my wife and I appreciate the architecture and historical aspects of older buildings. I didn't realize that the renovations were still in progress and the progress appears to have slowed or stopped. The lobby was devoid of all furniture but no sign of...

Stayed there early May and the place is a complete DUMP. Smells disgusting, elevators are old and need to be repaired. I travel all the time for work and corporate books my travel, recently looked at my credit card statement and saw that they charged me $140. When I called I was told that it was because I booked through...

It is a very interesting historic place with incredible interior historic features, but it is neglected and dirty in the common areas. It felt creepy at the elevator, lobby and halls. My room was OK and I felt save. The bathroom was clean with beautiful original historic furniture. The service was poor and the rate was disappointed considering the place....

Small smelly rooms, stayed in two different ones. The first faced West, no curtains on the windows, just blinds. Cane back late afternoon the room was hot! Could only open one window, no breeze. My sleep that night was miserable, sweated all night, took a cold shower in the morning. Had problems with the TV, they came up and took...

My wife and I have stayed in this area of Milwaukee on numerous trips in the past and decided to stay at the Astor for the very first time and it will definitely be our last! Our room was extremely hot and had no thermostat in it to control the temp. The front makeshift desk solution to fixing this problem...

If you're looking for a modern hotel with all the amenities, this isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a really neat historic place with small but nice rooms, clean as possible for a place this old, friendly staff, cool common areas and a decent price downtown, check this place out. Was able to find on-street parking right across...

I got a room for US$70 per day for a 7 days booking. Seems OK for the price paid. Hotel has been awarded with Heritage status and it shows on every front. If Nostalgia is what you are looking for, look no further. Rooms are of good size & kept clean, service can be made better. There are good eating...

I probably wouldn't stay here again. Rooms were very small. No air conditioning and there was an odor that wasn't very appealing. I understand its a landmark, but they could still update. The lobby was beautiful thou. Also, they advertise and lounge, but we couldn't go in because there was a private party.

We stayed here for NYE since all other hotels were sold out. That should have been our first clue. 1. Walls are paper thin - be prepared to hear other people "celebrating." 2. Smells like mold and we were unable to open the windows to air out room. 3. Parking! You have to pay for parking, but they oversell the...

We stayed here after a wedding, it was close to the venue and priced well. The hotel offered a free shuttle to go anywhere within a few miles of the hotel which was nice, but they stop running at 11pm. The hotel felt secure and safe. The room was ok, there were a pair of socks that were left in...
