We spent a night at the Walking Iron when visiting Spring Green on vacation. Quite frankly there isn't a lot in Mazomanie, so it was a real surprise to find a B&B of this quality in such a small town. The house is a fully restored Victorian gem. The hosts were very welcoming and seemed to understand the balance between...

My husband and I planned a long weekend to see three plays at American Players Theatre and chose to stay at Walking Iron. We stayed in Clara's room which is on the main floor - huge bed, double whirlpool bath plus shower and walk out from room to wrap around porch overlooking their lovely gardens. Beautiful, comfortable - breakfast at...

My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We chose this B&B for our 2 night stay. The Doctor's Study was very comfortable, breakfasts were great. Karisa and David were great hosts! You could tell that their attention to detail in their restoration of this beautiful house was done with love and care. We had a great stay and...

Visiting from UK with my two grown up daughters (via Chicago) ,Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to stay in order to explore the local area including Frank Lloyd Wright 's Taliesin, the House on the Rock and Devil's Lake. Warm welcome, comfortable rooms and attentive but discreet hosts made for a delightful stay and although Mazomanie is...

This was our second visit to the Walking Iron (and the only one I have ever been to). The couple that own the house are very sweet and genuine. They take time to make recommendations for your daily activities, but are not overbearing with conversation. They are very family oriented which I find refreshing as well. The gardens weren't quite...

My husband and I stayed here one night while driving to Chicago. The room, common areas and gardens were very cute. We stayed in the doctor's study room which had an electric fireplace and unique decor. We had the place to ourselves and it was great. The town of Mazomanie had historical landmarks and a few bars, very small. Continental...

Childhood memories of the House on the Rock and the Cave of the Mounds led us to the hilly southwest corner of Wisconsin (a two hour drive from Milwaukee for us). Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast was clean, warm (both innkeepers and temperature this chilly fall). It's the perfect place to stay if you plan to visit both attractions for...

My wife and I choose this place as our base for the Fall Art Tour despite it being 15 minutes from Spring Green, the center of action for the tour. Our room, the Doctor's Suite, had a separate 2 person hot tub area with a loveseat, as well as a full bathroom with a 2 person shower. Breakfasts were gourmet...

Recognizing there are limited overnight accommodations in the area, Walking Iron would still be a standout. It is an authentically restored home with five rooms, each with bathrooms that are above and beyond. Great showers, wonderful soaking tubs, large bathrooms! The sleeping rooms are very nice with comfortable, clean beds. Karissa and Dave are accommodating to guest needs. We were...

The Good: This place is into showers, whirlpools & saunas. If you like your pressure high and your water hot, this is the place for you. Our shower was built for two, and involved 4 shower heads - one normal, one handpiece, & two at waist level for full body immersion. The other rooms have different arrangements. All rooms have...

Thank you for the feedback on your stay. As you know, (from our discussion at breakfast) old houses always have "a list of things to fix". We appreciate you taking the time to write a review and assure you that at least a couple of things were completed on your list: decaf k-cups ordered and hinge on doorway tightened!
