Stayed in the Doctor's Study which was fantastic. Great decor and loved the double shower and whirlpool. The location was great as we walked to everything in the city-Microcar Museum, church, restaurant, and the historic downtown. Breakfast was excellent and held us til dinner at The Old Feed Mill.

Everything was perfect. An old home transformed into a B&B can sometimes feel claustrophobic. Not Walking Iron. Even the bathroom was huge. The location was perfect. We spent time at the American Players Theater, Spring Green, wine tasting at Wollersheim and Rock & Wool in Poynette and tasted spirits at Driftless Glen in Baraboo. Walking Iron was clean and the...

The food is great, the hosts very nice and the rooms are very clean. The style of the house and the decor are great. The front door could use a closer so it does not slam every time a guest come in or goes out. Some guest are not as courteous or mindful and let the door slam every time...

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. Sorry about the front door. That's on the "honey-do" list!

The owners are welcoming and work hard to maintain this beautiful property (not always easy with a 19th century house). Two of the rooms and spa are in a modern addition in the rear, however its architecture is consistent with the original building. Remaining rooms are in the original house. Guests have access to the outdoor porch - nice for...

We had only one night (a reservation anomaly made a single night available tho two are normally the minimum) and wished for more. A lovely room, delightful garden, generously sized bathroom, fine breakfast and friendly host made this a winner. Though not in the same town, it is near enough to Spring Green/American Players Theater, which was our reason for...

I did a mother/daughter weekend getaway and staying at Walking Iron made it a great weekend. It was the first time in a B&B for my mother and she enjoyed the experience. The room was just right, we did not plan on spending a lot of time in the room and when we did we were very comfortable. The grounds...

Walking Iron B&B offers an opportunity to experience the elegance of a Victorian Era home; the restoration that has taken place was something to behold. We were traveling to Frank Llyod Wright's home, "Taliesin" which was only a short car ride away. Walking Iron was 25 minutes from Madison (where we flew into), so it was extremely convenient for our...

Whenever we travel, we love to stay in B & B's primarily because they offer a delightful breakfast in a home like setting. When I made reservations for two nights with one of the owners at Walking Iron, I was told that the first morning would include only a continental breakfast; the second morning, however, would be a full served...

We apologize for the misunderstanding/confusion with the breakfast situation. Our website offers this information, but can be confusing. We are sorry that you found the quality of our continental breakfasts (Orange Juice, apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries, grapes, oatmeal, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and toasting breads.) inadequate. Our prices during the week are reduced because we do not offer the...

Walking Iron B&B was a wonderful stay! It is a beautiful home. The owners have done a fabulous job of maintaining the history and authenticity of the house. At the same time upgrades and amenities are provided for much comfort. The hospitality was wonderful. Friendly and delicious breakfast provided. Spent a wonderful weekend there. Quite convenient to Spring Green. Excellent breakfast and a lovely building building built in 1865. Very nice hosts. Cute little downtown with some nice dining is very convenient. Bed was a bit soft. Would definitely stay there again.
