The Cove of Lake Geneva offers a prime location that guests frequently commend for its closeness to local attractions, making it easy to explore the area on foot. While some travelers appreciate the spaciousness of the suites and the full kitchens provided, others are less impressed, pointing out the hotel's outdated rooms and maintenance issues.
The hotel's atmosphere and cleanliness receive mixed reviews, with mentions of a comfortable vibe alongside dated decor. Service quality varies, with reports of both friendly and sluggish responses from staff.

Detailed Reviews
We booked overnight in the studio suite. The room is big with a full kitchenette and living area and balcony. The bed looks like a california king enough for us, a family of 3.
The bed itself is right beside the door which weirded me out at first but it was okay. We slept well but it is a bit hard.
The kitchen has a full sized fridge (clean), coffee maker (did not use), toaster (also didn't use), microwave (clean), stove top, and dishwasher.
They had pans, plates, cutler's, salt and pepper, paper towel, dishwashing soap and sponge.
We brought some breakfast and oil for cooking.
The location is extraordinarily close to Riviera port and beach with restaurants every which way which is why we chose this hotel.
Check in and out was easy and service was excellent. Front desk let us check in an hour early being our room was already ready! Love!
There was an indoor and outdoor pool, a hotel pub and restaurant, gym and spa services.
Will come here again in a heartbeat!
I suggest having a menu in the room seeing as they offer room service.
Thanks!

This was a repeat visit for us. Unfortunately, the furnishings in our room during this stay were very dated and disappointing. The dining room table was in such bad shape that we avoided using it so the legs wouldn't break. The bedroom armoire was not optimal for storing clothes. They need to update the furnishings in room 307. Other members of our family stayed across the hall and they had a much nicer room and furnishings.
The furnace/air conditioner is extremely loud and was creating an annoying noise while trying to sleep. We ended up turning it off completely so that it would stop waking us up.
The pool is large and nicely heated.
The game room is a rip-off - many machines took our coins, but didn't operate or said we needed to insert more coins. The air hockey machine was missing the puck, but we didn't notice until after putting coins in. The claw machine took our coins, but never dropped the claw. It was very disappointing.
The location is outstanding as you can easily walk to the lake and to downtown without having to locate and pay for parking.
The overall value is quite reasonable. I just hope they can get all the rooms up to the same standards and address the issues in the game room.

If you are looking for a hotel close to Lake Geneva, near all the main shops and restaurants, and water, this is it.
If you are looking for clean and comfy rooms with pleasant views, this is it.
If you are looking for quality for an affordable price, this is it.
If you are looking for friendly and helpful staff, this is it.
If you are looking for quiet and peaceful setting, then you found the right place.
If you are looking for fishing and adventure, you found it here!
I booked a stay for two nights, added on another as I truly enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in a suite room and was treated to a view of a beautiful setting with river running through the park. I was hoping for view of lake, but I certainly had no complaints because the park is absolutely beautiful too! I spent most of my time walking on foot to visit lots of neat shops and restaurants, and of course enjoyed walking along the boardwalk in Lake Geneva to watch the boats come in and out with their fresh catch of the day. There were boats available for a fee, of course, to take people out for tours and sightseeing, along with fishing and sports activities. There are lots of things to do within a very short drive or walk from this hotel.
If you are looking for a relaxing trip to unwind or whether you are up for adventure, it's all there waiting for you.
If you enjoy sunbathing and playing in clean clear and cool lake water, you've found it here.
I do have a restaurant to mention that I would highly recommend, and that's the Olympia restaurant where breakfast is served all day long. The staff were so friendly, and eager to accommodate, and while the restaurant itself was not much to look at on the exterior, had so much character on the inside. I was treated with a smile, the food was DELISH, and very reasonable! I had a difficult time choosing what I wanted to eat, so I ordered a variety of things and even ordered take-out for lunch which was their Chicken Parm. Oh my goodness! So delicious! If you get time, this restaurant will be well worth a visit. And dessert? Be careful! So yummy!!!!
All in all,
This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed and will definitely have to do it again.

First stay at The Cove and have had nothing but problems from the Check-In. I tried not giving them a negative review, but the workers at the front desk did next to nothing to help so here it is:
1) Attached pictures show how dirty the dishes in the room were when we arrived. Nasty and unacceptable, especially during COVID-19. They claim there is enhanced cleaning, but my room was far from clean.
2) When I spoke with the front desk (4 different workers) about it and showed them the photos, they apologized and said the best they could do for the “inconvenience” was to refund my $30 resort fee. I asked for a different room (poolside) and they said they were reserved for people staying longer than 2 nights. Also not what I was told when I booked, but hey par for the course here.
3) Various other issues included:
Only one clean towell in the bathroom when I check in and when I called down to the front desk to request more, they stated there was a “towel shortage” and I’d have to wait. 1 towell for a family to shower with is ridiculous, later in the night (after another request) housekeeping got us towells.
No soap in the room, finally got some with the towels.
There are a total of 5 cabanas in the pool area. Not one was being used while I was there around 6PM. I took cover in one when it started drizzling and I was promptly removed as I didn’t rent it. I told the lifeguard it would just be until the cloud pased, but she insisted. Come on...common sense here.
Sad part is this could all have been avoided if anyone cared enough at this property to do the right thing, mistakes happen. Although nasty dirty rooms is a problem, especially during COVID-19, but I would have let it slide if a manager did their job.
I also @TheCove on IG if interested regarding this.

The title says it all. This place needs to clean 100% no hairs on the towels or bath tub, upgrade their beds, sheets, and pillows, upgrade shower head water gets everywhere outside the curtain. Maybe renovating the place would be better.

The property, facilities and location are great. The service is poor. All the employees wore a frown and looked like they hated their jobs. Mostly avoided eye contact. Make you wear a wrist band in the pool area like it’s a water park lol. First thing we saw in our room was a stack of 4 pool towels on the table with a sign saying that if any of them were missing when we checked out, they would bill us $20 a towel! Most rediclous thing. And they were very cheap towels. No extra towels are available in the pool area.

We had such great time when we checked out we booked again and will be back June 22 - June 26
This place is perfect way to give your kids a summer break this year. The room was cleaned and ready at check in at 4pm
Check in was a breeze and both front desk workers were great!
Things they are doing during the pandemic:
remotes in rooms are sanitized and placed in plastic bags
24 hours waiting period per guest per room
room is sanitized and inspected before the next guest
pool outside and inside are opened from 8am - 8pm with a 50% capacity
if it goes over that you will have 1 hour at a time to swim
The room has everything you need! A full kitchen - so I just cooked the whole time to save money.
The outside pool was clean! The pool staff is fantastic and take their job very seriously. There is always a lifeguard on duty. There is a large pool, a large baby pool with a pirate ship and slides, a hot tub, and plenty of chairs. There are also cabanas you can rent for the day.
The bar at the outside pool is only opened on the weekends.
We packed out lunches, and ate them right at the pool on our chairs.
The restaurant attached to the hotel is closed due to covid
This hotel is perfect! Plenty of parking, it is across the street from the Lake. You can walk to all the shops, restaurants, and of course the ice cream shops!
We can't wait to be back!!! See you guys this Monday, June 22
Thanks for all your hard work! Much appreciate it!

My husband and I booked a room, with the romance package. This included the room, roses, rose petals scattered around the room, chocolates and a bottle of wine or champagne. I was getting this to surprise him, after several long months of work stress, plus with all the stuff going on. We checked in and it went rather smooth and quickly. Went to the room excited to see it....they did not provide us with the package we paid quite a bit extra for.
I mean, this didn’t ruin our weekend by any means, but if you’re going to offer it make sure you follow through when a guest pays that much extra for something special. I planned on bringing wine and stuff, but when I saw this option, I figured I would cut out the extra work for me. Guess I should have brought our own.
I immediately called the front desk, and she stated that she didn’t see it. I made sure to mention that I better not be charged the extra $100+ dollars then. She called back within 10 minutes or so, and said “there was a glitch in the system, I see it now. We will refund that amount and should be good.”
No offer to still provide us with the service....no real apology. I’m not a negative review writer typically, but I believe this could have been handled somewhat better. The rest of our stay was fine. Our room was ready, clean and seemed to be one that’s been fairly recently renovated. Huge bathroom, awesome kitchen. Room 217 is a great....first floor not too far from the lobby but far enough to avoid all the traffic.

The room we had at the Cove was very tired. Furniture was uncomfortable and the bed felt like a cheap motel brand. We reserved a king size bed and found a queen bed. When requesting a room change, we were told some one would call us in an hour. We never received the call and had to go to the front desk. In the morning when I went to the lobby for coffee, I was told that service is only available on the week ends but they would have housekeeping deliver some. Waited an hour and checked out without housekeeping showing up.

This is a great location to walk to places in downtown Lake Geneva. The outdoor pool is wonderful and the restaurant was very nice.
That is all that is good about this hotel. We had a family getaway here & requested to have are rooms close together. They were NOT! When asked at check-in if we could switch rooms, we were told they were sold out & could not accommodate us. We had also requested early check-in. We were not able to do this, either.
The room numbers do not coincide & it's easy to get lost.
Some of the rooms need updating. The bathroom - tub shower combination is actually a jetted tub with a shower in it. Difficult to get in & out of if you are over 50. All rooms have a nice view of the parking lot. When I checked out & they asked how my stay was..."I said, I've had better" but they never asked what they could have done to make it better.
All in all...this hotel is very expensive and not worth it, in my opinion.

Greetings,
Yes, it will be open Labor Day weekend and will be officially closed the night of Labor Day 9/2/24.
Pet friendly, no, but probably Pete friendly.
Yes. We were surprised that they did have pots, pans, a couple of dishes, glasses, coffee mugs, actual glass wine glasses, plates, and flatware. They really thought of almost everything so we did not have to take all of it with us. They gave us a roll of paper towels as well, a small packet of dishwasher powder, so we had clean dishes overnight for the couple of days we spent there.
