While I have not stayed over night at this Bed and breakfast, it offers so much more than just a place to sleep. My friends and I have enjoyed the bread making class, which includes a served dinner. We have had the wine tasting with appetizers-worth every penny!! And purchased their breads and meats. We keep going back! We love...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Smoland! We baked bread, had a relaxing dinner, did bird watching at Crex Meadows. We didn't have time for the wine tasting but just another reason to go back! Virginia and Joe were wonderful! We highly recommend a stop/stay here.

Been here a few different times and am never disappointed friendly fun and relaxing. The wines paired with the home baked bread are wonderful. The bed and breakfast clean and neat and the breakfast wonderful.

We went for the weekend wine tasting. We did not stay at bed and breakfast. Wines are not their own but rather a variety of wines the owners enjoy. Lovely tapas spread to go with wine tasting. Worth the $10 per person. Also a bakery on site (21 varieties of from-scratch yeast breads) and their own beef and pork for...

Inn has a nice wine tasting scenario in the back and there is a bakery on premise. Unfortunately, the cinnamon rolls were much too doughy and lacked enough cinnamon to make them worthy of a cinnamon roll description. Many residents of Minnesota take highway 70 from Wisconsin to go back home. Travel companions also commented that the cinnamon bread was...

We were birding Crex Meadows and stopped for the night in Grantsburg. The Smoland Inn is an interesting and well thought out B&B. The rooms are warm and welcoming. The owners are friendly and attentive. Our breakfast was designed for our tastes. My only regret was that we had not planned to stay longer. I strongly recommend this Inn.

During our Staycation in Burnett County, we were able to tour the Smoland Prairie Inn and visit the bread store and pick up some raisin cinnamon bread. The Inn is a fabulous Tamarac wood house built in the 1800s. There is a large room with a queen sized bed on the 2nd floor that has a half bath. There is...

On our way back to Minneapolis we thought it would be fun to stay in a real farmhouse. This fit the ticket. The house is an authentic prairie house, that has been extensively restored. It is full of stuff - some antique and some just whimsical. Dishes, hats, photographs, trunks, old irons, etc, etc. It happened that we had the...

My husband and I stayed at Smoland Prairie Homestead Inn while experiencing the Sandhill Crane migration at near-by Crex Meadows. This fabulous place was much more than we anticipated and has so much to offer. The B&B is a 200 yr old restored farm house cleverly and thoughtfully decorated with period antiques. You could spend a day just perusing, reading and...

Looking for something different for one night, 90 minutes from the Twin Cities? This scenic farm with horses, chickens, and cats, contains a rebuilt 200-year-old log farmhouse filled with antiques, near Grantsburg, WI. In addition to three clean rooms ($100 each) in the farmhouse, the welcoming and helpful proprietors, Virginia and Shamus, prepare and share a very nice breakfast on...

“We chose the very large upstairs bedroom with the queen-sized bed. There's only a half-bath upstairs, but that was fine for us. We almost chose the bedroom on the main floor, which is off of the dining room. It's nicely decorated, and the full bathroom is also on the main floor.”
