We stayed here for 2 nights with a group. The rooms were comfortable with lovely bathrooms. The grounds had incredible landscaping. Lots of frog calls at night! Saw a Red-eyed tree Frog after hearing it. Be sure to go across the bridge to the village replica. Food was also good with a decent variety.

Sidewalks and parking lot was all cover with moss (lack of maintenance) that make the site very slippery and dangerous, specially for old people. Two member of my group felt down on the slippery sidewalks. Also reception book our reservation wrong. They book only one night instead of two even if we were clear in our email 6 months ago.

Stayed here last week as part of Saga tour. 17 out of 21 in the group, plus tour manager and driver suffered from an on-going stomach bug, which many returned to the UK with. Rather than Saga giving us bottled water we had to fill our own bottles from a central source. Salads and fruit were not covered over, and...

Stayed in this hotel five days ago with Saga, most of our group of 22 travellers have been ill since with vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, lethargy etc. Saga have failed to do much about it. Forget this hotel and Saga!

A group of birders from Cape Town stayed here in March 2016. The grounds are ideal for birding even if one does not venture out to the nearby National Park (eg the Fiery billed Aracari and Chestnut-mandibled Toucan). The lawns are also good places to see many Iguanas sunning themselves. The food was excellent and self service which speeds things...

Pretty average place. It is tired and run down, but charges as if it were a lot more upscale. The grounds are nice, with opportunities for lots of nature watching. Checking in was an issue. Even though I received the confirmation email for my reservation there was quite a mix-up when trying to check-in. It got sorted out, but took...

We stayed 3 nights here, staff were very helpful, friendly.Rooms very clean etc. food was home cooked very tasty. The lounge area was small and needed some TLC. Very pleasant stay for 3 days. Our room overlooked the lawn which stretched to the river, where you could see lots of birds etc.

This place would be great for big party! A huge area off on its own that is set up for a big party with church, eating area, and rooms. A little run down. Wifi by pool which is nice. Food not so good. Better to go local places. Raccoon eating sugar in buffet. My sons loved the pool and great...

Had 3 nights here.Nice open plan reception, bar and restaurant with an outside seating area.Unfortunately the seats were a little uncomfortable and there were not enough cushions to go round. The rooms were as i expected with a view across the green to a river where birds of all kinds flew and iguanas sunbathed. The rooms were fine if a little tired...

Villa Lapas just needs some updating and TLC. The AC in our room blew mostly warm air. The drinking glasses in the room were so dirty as to give me the creeps as was the bedside table top. The room was dark and not inviting. It would have been better without AC and dark drapes. It was reminiscent of a...
