Quiet and secluded, the extensive grounds had many beautiful plants and a lot of different species of birds. From the open-air dining area, you can look out over a brook surrounded by large trees covered with bromeliads. Explore nearby trails or relax around the pool. It's also near the Carara National Park.

We LOVED Villa Lapas! Within one hour of our arrival we saw a Toucan, poison dart frog, iguana's, Jesus lizards, and Macaws flying overhead! The grounds are so beautiful! We loved our room #202! We had to cross over a bridge to get to it. The nature trail is great! At first it doesn't seem like much, kinda like you...

We went to a four-day seminar to this hotel. We found the place was VERY appropriate for the type of activity that we had. We really felt in nature, with so many sounds and living visitors. The rooms are just fine. AC works well, which is very important in that climate. There are no drawers in the room and the...

Our tour guide took us here for a tour round the gardens. Very interesting with lots of interesting birds, reptiles and flowers. Part of hotel is constructed like a traditional local village. A good afternoon activity

My wife, daughter, and I stayed here for two nights on a visit to Carara National Park. It was a perfect place for us: nice pool for my daughter, nice landscaping surrounded by beautiful rainforest, and 5 minutes drive to the park. There was some construction going on while we were there but it still was a very pleasant place...

This was our first hotel stay after we arrived in Costa Rica, we spent three nights at the hotel. The first room we stayed in was a very basic room, nothing fancy, but adequate. However, we discovered the next morning that we had no hot water. The hot water heater for the room had broke so we were moved to...

This was one of our favorite places. Room was clean and comfortable, meals (included) were served buffet style, delicious...unlimited beverages. Not near a beach but we did not miss it. Grounds were beautifully kept, two small pools. Wonderful trails which crossed and recrossed a small river, made for a nice walk. Lots of birds and iguanas. Carla at reception was...

The grounds of the hotel were idyllic. There was a lovely river running through the property and we saw numerous birds. There was a resident iguana near the restaurant. The cabins were basic but comfortable but not suitable for anyone who doesn't like sharing their room with creepy crawlies!
