Stayed here with my girlfriend on her birthday weekend. Arrived on Friday early afternoon to leave Sunday. Entered the large farmhouse under the welcome sign and from that moment on had a stay we will never forget. Was greeted by Helen and Jim when we entered the house. Said our hellos and was taken to our cabin by Ethan. We...

We went up to Palmquist for a sleigh ride, and stayed in the White Pine Inn cottage (the picture by the title). It was marvelous! You are welcomed in to Helen and Jim's farmhouse home when you arrive and see them preparing for dinner guests. We got settled in to our suite (HUGE, sleeps 6, with a separate room for...

35 years ago my children and I visited Palmquist Farm. The experience has been a treasured memory for us. This past weekend we went in search of new memories with 11 grandchildren in tow. Helen and Jim Palmquist have expanded the farm's capacity and preserved all that was special about our last visit. The fresh, home cooked meals were fabulous,...

Coming here you step back at least 50 years to a timeless and beautiful winter wonderland. Miles of well manicured cross country ski trails, excellent snowshoeing. The hospitality is wonderful and the home cooked food excellent (and lots of it). Rustic cabins heated by wood burning stoves. A Finnish sauna, a warm lodge, a dining hall. The hosts are knowledgeable...

I went for a winter adventure with my daughter and grandson. It was cold and clear and felt like we stepped back in time. We stayed in a cabin with its own sauna which was great to warm up after a day outdoors in the cold. They have a big Finnish sauna also. My grandson went cross country skiing and...

We LOVED every minute at Palmquist Farm. Jim and Helen are warm welcoming hosts. We brought 2 horses which stayed in huge, spotless stalls inside the barn with green rich pasture outside. Our cabin was charming along with all of the other accommodations. Jim gave us tours of the extensive trails on a Kubota so we were confident in our...

Palmquist Farm is a very unique place to visit. It's a combination of a bed and breakfast, hunting lodge, ski lodge and nature retreat. First, Helen Palmquist is a fabulous chef and baker offering up tasty dishes that warm the soul. She and her husband Jim make you feel at home immediately. We visited the farm over Thanksgiving, and it...

Palmquist Farm is an amazing place if you like to be outdoors in the winter. The cross country ski trails are beautifully maintained with beautiful vistas of the farm. We stayed in a suite in the White Pine Inn, which was quite spacious. The home cooked comfort food that Helen Palmquist prepares is wonderful, especially at breakfast time. You will...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It'd be a real pleasure to have you come out and enjoy a stay at Palmquist Farm! My name is Jim Palmquist, and my 800-acre farm is located in North Central Wisconsin. My wife Helen and I do raise beef cattle and timber on our farm, but our real passion is great Finnish hospitality that goes back nearly 110 years. Activities Our home-cooked meals, authentic Finnish sauna, farm animals and scavenger hunt for the kids (or kids at heart) are always available. Winter Season: enjoy our cross-country ski trails, horse-drawn sleigh rides, sledding hill, ice skating pond, and music night/talent show Bring-your-own horse: miles of farm trails and quiet country roads to ride on, safe and comfortable horse accommodations Summer and Fall season: hiking and biking trails, wagon rides, cookouts, local Wisconsin attractions like the Brigadoon Winery Hunting season: in-season hunting for ruffed grouse or white tail deer Event hosting: our log lodge is the perfect venture for your next wedding, reunion, business meeting, or party Lodging After a day of farm activates, enjoy a relaxing evening in our cozy cottages. We have smaller cabins for 2 to 6 people. Our large, handcrafted log cabin (called "The White Pine Inn") is perfect for big groups. We have a total 5 cabins and a few rooms in the Farm House that can fit about 40 to 50 people. As I like to say, there are no strangers at The Farm. Only friends you haven't met yet. We look forward to your visit. Don't forget to take a look at our Facebook page to see what's happening at The Farm. Take Care! ... more   less
