We stayed one night at the end of September, it was a huge campground so had we stayed for a long period of time a gulf cart would've been essential. The lake is gorgeous and they have a ton of activities for kids to do. Their store was my favorite out of campgrounds that I've been to yet. They also have food available, BBQ and Pizza which was nice! Def going again and bringing the kayaks this time, we loved it.

Plan my vacations every year to include this campground. Wonderful access to Summersville Lake. Great facilities. Easy access. Lots of local activities. No matter the season it’s always a beautiful place to come.

I don't usually bother to write reviews these days but as this one is a bit sentimental for me, I decided to dig up my old TripAdvisor password. This is a really fun, nice campground in a gorgeous area. The cabins are clean, roomy and have nice amenities, and the atmosphere was great (I was a little nervous when I saw how big the place is and how many young people were staying there, but it was very family friendly and not rowdy at all. We had some college students across from us but they were all good kids and considerate of noise levels for the little ones in our group.) It was a good experience for my family and it also made me hope that others will come to this beautiful area and see the WV I know and love. I grew up in the area and moved away, and anytime I see my home state in the news these days, it seems it is for something negative. I hope that people visit and see the amazing natural wonders WV has to offer, and how courteous and helpful people in the area are.

There are a few things I hope they improve on a bit. First and foremost would be the coffee sold in the main store, lol! I was also a bit unhappy with the billing system - I had reserved a few cabins with one credit card under one name in order to pay for a family vacation, and when my individual family members arrived they were each charged the balance for their room before being given a key. That may be my fault for not being familiar with how campsites generally bill but I was surprised when they said they couldn't just reverse the charges and put it on my card - I've never heard of not being able to void a credit card transaction. But, they were responsive and listened to my complaints when I called to kvetch, and as another reviewer said, I think it's a work in progress where they do listen to people's feedback. Given that it's such a large campground with a lot of activities offered I know getting every detail ironed out between day-to-day upkeep is probably a lot, so I appreciated that they at least noted the feedback politely.

Overall I would definitely recommend the site - everything we needed was right there and it was easy to entertain and feed three kids between the swimming beach, golf, ice cream, and restaurant; and for those who wanted to go offsite for things like whitewater rafting it was all nearby.

Thank you for your review and most of for staying with us. Yes we love feedback from our guests so we can better serve you. We would love to know what you mean by the coffee if you mean brand? We do have free coffee made for our guests that you can come in and get a cup. As for the billing yes when you check in the person checking in is responsible for paying for their site. Just let us know ahead of time that you want to pay for everything and be responsible for all units in the future and once you arrive we can take your payment for that however we cannot let anyone down to a cabin without paying just like any other overnight facility. Again thank you so much for the feedback and we appreciate your business. Thank you

Great campground that is off 19. We have been traveling called and they accomodated us. They have sewer, water, with a dump station. There is a honey pot service which costs. It is a beautiful view. Needs some updating with the money they earn with as many sites they have they should be able to update their sites better. I guess a work in progress. If you don't have a car with you it is not easy to get to the store or the other activities in the park. If you are looking to relax it is nice.

Beautiful setting and campground is very clean. So much to do, swimming pool, Beach area on the lake, miniature golf, hiking trails. Every section has a playground. Staff were exceptionally nice and extremely helpful. Security makes rounds regularly but do not harrass you. Very quiet when we were there during the week. I am sure the weekends are different. As long as you follow the rules (which aren't many) security wouldn't bother you. I will definitely stay there again
